UPDATE TIME...again. School is beginning, so I'm back to having no
time. If any fellow students out there want to get your study on,
then that's cool, but I don't imagine that I'll be getting out much
until next year. So my apologies to all of you who've messaged me
recently, and I guess keep reading, if you like browsing.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in transition; have been for a while now. I'm always looking
for new things to do, new people to meet, new things to cook, new
places to go. For the time being, these seem to be school and
dancing, whoever, Chinese food, and New Orleans, maybe. Work,
obligations, and staying in shape tend to get in the way a bit too
frequently, as does the occasional video game, but I manage.
I’m really good at
Cooking, and making people laugh at me. And those are SEPARATE
talents. :) Not much else comes to mind, at least that's worth
mentioning, but I'm looking to expand this list.
The first things people usually notice about me
"Hey, there's a person there."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: Hamlet, Wuthering Heights, The Woman Warrior, Catch-22,
Fahrenheit 451. Also, it's been a long time since I read
movies: Ghostbusters, Shoot 'Em Up, Zombieland, The Dark Knight,
Rushmore. Again, movies aren't really a common pastime of mine. I
prefer social activities where conversation is encouraged.
shows: not much for live shows, but Hot Chip was a friggin'blast,
Sleigh Bells were hot, and though I haven't yet, I'm at the point
where I'd sell a kidney to see Passion Pit
Ooooohh. TV shows: I don't watch TV.
music: Grizzly Bear, Broken Social Scene, The Arcade Fire, Monsters
of Folk, Julian Casablancas, The Doors, Vampire Weekend, Tokyo
Police Club, The Thermals, Florence and the Machine, Beck, The
Decembrists, the New Pornographers, Camera Obscura, Sharon Jones,
Sleigh Bells, Passion Pit, The Violent Femmes, Fang Island, White
Rabbits, !!! are at the top of my list right now. I mostly love
pop, particularly indy rock as far as current music goes. This list
is now two years old, but I haven't really been keeping up with
bands, lately, so it can stand.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever is on the radio. I drive for a living, so I spend 60+
hours a week singing along to music or listening to news. Also,
programming and math, of late.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working until 10. Then it's home, or usually to a friend's place,
but always to study.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Not here. I am quite an open person, though, so ask me whatever you
would like to.
You should message me if
you'd like to meet new people, or chat, and definitely, if you'd
like to come to a dinner party, sometime. I mostly use this site as
a distraction from homework, these days, though I do check my
messages daily, and always respond.
