I am sleep deprived, savagely angry, and sadomasochistic.

My Self-Summary

Wow, so it's been at least four years since I worked on this profile... so for whoever's been reading this recently... I'm less cheerful, less skinny, somehow STILL in school (though finally close to graduation in May), and either at work, at school, drinking, or asleep in that order of devotion to time...it's less that I drink too much and more that I just don't get time to sleep. I'm in school full-time trying to graduate and I work 60-75 hour weeks.

What I’m doing with my life

Okay, I left this section from four years ago for comparison... I'm finishing a BA in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I work with "at risk" teens in a residential facility and probably will through the rest of my career. Hopefully I'll be able to get into a graduate or Ph.D. program somewhere at some point in time, but we'll see.

((((((I'm working on a bachelor's in Psych and possibly double-majoring in Political Science. I no longer have plans to join the Air Force due to several circumstances, both general and personal. Once I finish school (which at this rate could be 340598 years, thanks to having to pay my own tuition, which blows), I'll probably wind up teaching and working toward a Ph.D. if I so decide.))))))

I’m really good at

Reading, cooking and usually burning myself while doing it, collecting shaving cuts, listening to music, sleeping, drinking lots of diet coke, drinking a lot, finding sketchy bars

The first things people usually notice about me

I have really yellowy-green eyes.

I am very forward and open and often brutally honest.

People usually confide in me even after not knowing me for that long. I am told that I come off as extremely trustworthy and a good listener.

I always have a book with me.

I am very laid-back and easy-going and do not take myself very seriously.

While I can be very ladylike, I generally conduct myself in a manner suggestive of a male personality (I don't get along with girls).

I always have my iPod Killian with me.

(((now it's Killian III... Killian I died, Killian II was a Nano, and I traded my nano with a girl to get my Classic which is Killian III)))
I drink soymilk. (People really do notice this one. it's kind of strange, but apparently drinking soymilk is not normal.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(a) Junky, William S. Burroughs; Valley of the Dolls, Jacqueline Susann; Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hunter S. Thompson (RIP; also, I was a fan long before he died.); Snow Crash, Neal Stephenson; Prozac Nation, Elizabeth Wurtzel.

(b)Boondock Saints; Requiem For a Dream; Trainspotting; Life as a House; American Beauty; Moulin Rouge; Pleasantville; The Crow; A Clockwork Orange; Stigmata, because the soundtrack is awesome and there are some great quotes from it.

(c) In no particular order, these are just some of my favorites, and it's a pretty eclectic and seemingly strange list, so deal with it: ((((Okay, wow, that list was ridiculous. Just know that if it's out there, I'll listen to it at least once and give it a fair chance.))))

(d) CHINESE FOOD. Also, the Southwestern egg rolls from Chili's. Mmm.

The six things I could never do without

1) Irishmen and their sexy, sexy accents.

2) Good beer.

3) Books.

4) Bacardi Gold.

5) A computer.

96) My closest friends.

18) People who can count, one of which I clearly am.

25) the number 42 - the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

6) the idea that if I end the list with number six, it's still only six things.

6) the fact that I can keep reusing the number six, and if the list ends on a number six, it's STILL six things.

320498) Being silly.

6) It's STILL ONLY SIX THINGS

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Day to day events. Do people really sit there and think about existentialism and antidisestablishmentarianism (I had to use this word, I love it) and the like? I mean, really. People are just too preoccupied to think of philosophical and controversial topics for any extended period of time. Unless they're philosophy majors, in which case they can administer a high dose of transcortical lead therapy to themselves. Philosophy leaves me feeling vaguely pissed off. It's mostly useless in any tangible or even applicable sense.

On a typical Friday night I am

there is no such thing as a typical friday night anymore.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I really, really like Elton John
