I am philosophical, enigmatic, and goofy.
My Self-Summary
Ego, party of one . . . . Ego, party of one. Hmmm what to write.
I'm available obviously or I wouldn't be here. Best feature is
sense of humor running the gammut from dry & witty to blunt
& raunchy. I'm the unofficial therapist for my friends and
family since most folks find that although I have strong opinions
I'm very good at being open-minded and am a good listener. I tend
to cut to the heart of the matter in question and not get lost in
the minutiae. At least in the realm of advice - on most other
things I adore minutiae.
What I’m doing with my life
Coasting for the most part. I'm not very ambitious with regards to
fame & fortune. I like to pay the bills, have some for fun and
some for the future. I don't define myself through the job I have
but through the soul I have.
I’m really good at
Making folks laugh. And I'm a decent and creative cook.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physical traits. I have the body of a god - Bhudda, but a god
nonetheless. I battled the belly for most of my life and finally
decided to make peace with it since it is obviously not going
anywhere. I have lost a few pounds recently and will be actively
trying to drop more, but I will never grace the cover of GQ. The
next trait would be my eyes - very hazel and soulful - they get me
the most compliments. Next would be the bizarre laugh (has to be
experienced, not explained).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
a) Fiction (Hitchhiker series, Harry Potter, etc), Reference
(gardening, cooking, etc) b) almost anything really c) Bjork, 80's
pop, Enya, Spanish guitar, relaxing ambient background stuff d)
almost anything except English peas, fresh tomatoes (I break out),
and most yellow & orange veggies (but carrots are lovely)
The six things I could never do without
1) Humor. Would there be any point in living without it? 2)
Solitude. An odd thing to list on a site where the purpose is to
meet others, but so very me. I do need a little solitude each day -
otherwise I get real bitchy. 3) My Mac. iMac G4. I could never go
back to a PC. They're OK for work, but for the I kind of stuff I
like to do at home the Mac is exactly what I need. I'm a true
convert. 4) The Internet & Google. Such a wonderful source for
research. I've learned more on the web than I ever did in a
classroom. I've been exposed to viewpoints that would have never
come into my life otherwise and been made a better person for it.
Of course there's a considerable amount of bullshit too, but I
still wouldn't want to give it up. 5) Real Friends. I have very
few, but I love them with all my heart. 6) Star Trek (all
incarnations). I've never been to a convention and I don't have a
room full of memoribilia. I'm referring more to the spirit of the
shows rather than the trappings. Those who "get it" need no further
explainations.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The nature of existence. I'll let you know when I figure it out.
On a typical Friday night I am
Surfing the web, catching a movie at home, or on my way to my
Grandmother's house to help out with various "honey-do" tasks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am lonely and hate it.
You should message me if
I've made you smile. If I've made you laugh you should message me
NOW!
