My Self-Summary
fringe dweller (hair included) toying with adulthood and
responsibility whilst still enjoying the heady days of 20
something(ish).
What I’m doing with my life
once upon a time i sought out the creative life for myself. sadly,
economics and my social justice bone got the better of me and i'm
now dedicated to working in the not-for-profit/charity sector; and
am the watcher of creatives instead.. throw me an artist that needs
a grant and it will be the culmination of my career! but life is
not all work... it's also music (live and recorded, and by geez, i
still buy CD's!), friends, outness of the bar/pub/food variety,
plus some of the quiet homely things. oh, and crazy girl this year
decide to take up post-graduate study while working full time. so i
guess i'm doing quite a bit.
I’m really good at
deciding to say yes to things without thinking about all the other
stuff i have to do and ending up in manic land (see comment re:
study above); making new best friends; knitting; remembering
irrelevant and useless pop culture information that really only
comes into its own when playing trivia.. all other times it causes
shock and consternation amongst friends that i would even think to
find out about it, let alone retain and recount it.
The first things people usually notice about me
my hair and my earings (sometimes all at the same time due to their
proximity)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books: autobiographies at the moment, with classic tomes on the
shelf being italo calvino, margaret attwood, jeanette winterson and
quite a few old philosophers.
films: arthouse, musicals, trash, thoughful - there's a right time and a place for them all (except basic instinct 2)
music: always, many, varied, with a particular penchant for boys with guitars that the nme is prone to announcing being my new favourite thing. otherwise known as bloc party, the kills, sigur ros, death cab for cutie, death from above 1979, interpol, kasabian, etc.
food: degustation to vegemite on toast - much like film, it's all about time, place, mood .. and those you're with.

The six things I could never do without
my left hand; music (getting a bit reiterative aren't i?); sense of
great potential for the future; like-minded souls; my imagination;
and one other thing i can't think of right now.

why people (including myself) are the way they are
On a typical Friday night I am
doing one or all of the following: friends, drinks, dancing,
banding, dinner-ring, after-work-bonding.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
..is that strangers and society have a tendency to judge those they
know not well, and so private information and the person with whom
information is shared is carefully selected prior to admittance.
