My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up primarily in the New York City area, the only son of a divorced mother. I moved to Albuquerque in 2003, mostly because I had to move and my half-brother lives here. I have a bachelor's degree in animal science from Cornell, an associate's degree in jewelry design from FIT, and an associate's degree in veterinary technology from CNM. Although I consider myself to be a man of science, I have an interest in Paganism, a nature religion. I am also a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church (very liberal and open-minded). I'm an art jewelry designer and I like to make things. I'm fairly conscientious environmentally, and my politics are decidedly to the left. I used to be into the Gothic scene, and still appreciate a somewhat dark and mysterious esthetic. I tend to be a serious person and a little obsessive but I do appreciate intelligent humor. I love animals ( I work with them for a living) and have one long-haired black cat. I also enjoy reading, listening to KUNM on the radio (I don't own a TV), bicycling, dancing (on occasion), decorating my apartment, and taking good care of my car. I recognize a need to get out into nature more often. Let me know if you want to do some hiking or bicycling!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently employed as a registered veterinary technician at a local animal clinic. I also have a very small jewelry business. I hope to expand on that later. My main goal is to live a healthy, contented, and creative life. It would be nice to make a little more money someday, maybe get a house or something, but it's not an absolute necessity.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm generally adept at intellectual pursuits and have always done well at school. Sometimes the real world presents a challenge, however. I'm also good at designing, making, and repairing things with my hands.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Some people have said I look like Morrissey of the Smiths. I recently changed my hairstyle and look less so now. Otherwise, I'm not really sure, unless I'm wearing a skirt!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Jungle-Upton Sinclair, A People's History of the United States-Howard Zinn, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man-James Joyce, vampire novels (mostly old school like Anne Rice), Mists of Avalon, metaphysical books, self-help books.
Movies: Wings of Desire, Brazil, Annie Hall, Harold and Maude, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Addams Family, anything by Michael Moore, The Corporation, Eraserhead, A Clockwork Orange, American Hustle, Moonrise Kingdom, the latest Mad Max movie with Charlize Theron. I really need to see more movies!
Music: Old goth, some punk, shoegaze, trip-hop, 60's psychedelic rock, East Indian classical music, Middle Eastern music, European classical music, classic country, some jazz, some blues, some folk, some Native American music, some reggae, even some hip-hop. I now have a Pandora and a Rhapsody account, so I can learn about more music!
Food: I am currently struggling with digestive issues. Trying to figure out what I can still eat without a problem. Working with something called the Low FODMAPS diet.
TV and Netflix: I don't have a television but I have enjoyed Twin Peaks, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. Am currently viewing House of Cards and Orange is the New Black on rare occasions (on Netflix).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music
Art
Animals
The Goddess (Why not?)
Tools
My hands
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why there is so much class inequality in the world. How things, work, and people are valued. Why men's fashion is so limited. Why everyone is driving a big ass truck or SUV while we should be concerned about the future of the planet. Wondering if I can "break on through to the other side."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Exercising, listening to the radio, reading, working on projects at home, checking my e-mail, and getting ready for work on Saturday morning. Wednesday and Saturday nights are my potential "party times." I'm mostly a homebody these days...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes crossdress in public for kicks. Have done it a few times lately for special occasions. My style is somewhat Gothic (all black), not super feminine. I'm aiming more for androgyny. Not really into heels or makeup. I don't act feminine, either; I just act like myself. This is not a fetish for me. I simply think most men's fashion is rather boring and I like the idea of making a fashion statement. Hey, you gals can wear men's clothing and nobody cares! (Of course, women have a lot more serious problems to deal with in this society.) It's time for a revolution in men's fashion! I'm kinda serious about this but I have a sense of humor about it too. I have been heterosexual my whole life. No plans for a sex change, either! Guess I still might scare many of you women off with this information. Oh, well! I think it best to mention it from the start! I require someone who not only understands this but thinks it's cool! Feel free to ask me any questions about this or anything else in my profile.

We seem to have a lot in common, you are open-minded, will not try to change me, and are reasonably attractive. Just being honest. I am not desperate for a partner at any cost. I have lived alone (with no romantic relationships or sex) for many years now. No Republicans need apply!
