I’m funny, loving, caring, romantic, and down to earth.

I've been in the DC area for fifteen years, and I love that I'm still finding new things to do. There is a cultural side to me that enjoys museums, independent films, reading, NPR, podcasts, interesting food, and music. Of course, there is also a flip side to me that is outgoing, and sometimes very silly. I like to stay in shape and usually (but definitely not always) try to eat right.

I'm a cross between an engineer and a salesperson. I have great coworkers, a lot of autonomy, and I get to work from home several days a week. I like my job. In real life, outside of work, I'm enjoying myself. I'm a volunteer ESL teacher one night a week.

figuring things out. Not getting lost. Losing myself when I want to. I know my way around the kitchen, can transform clay into a reasonably symmetrical pot, and can sew buttons onto my shirts.

Traveling is a passion of mine, so maybe I'm good at that as well. Almost every winter, I take a long vacation to someplace that is warm and interesting. Last winter, I went back to Bolivia to volunteer again at an animal shelter for 4 weeks. I once lived in Israel for a year. I have seen flocks of scarlet macaws in Costa Rica, clambered over ancient temples in Cambodia, participated in voodoo ceremonies in Africa, and much more.

I love to read. I like fiction, non-fiction, the New Yorker, and The Washington Post on Sundays. A few of my favorite books are: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Time Traveler’s Wife, East of Eden, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Fight Club, The Silence of the Lambs, Like Water for Chocolate, Bel Canto, and anything by Murakami.

Favorite places: The Capitol Crescent Trail along the Potomac, any place that has warm weather, Dupont Circle, farmers markets, the E Street Cinema, Clarendon, and the Sackler Gallery.

Favorite things: Jon Stewart, travel, berries, reading,
happy hour with friends, thunderstorms, sunny days, good food, animals, and the beach.
