My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I write poetry. Ideally I could make a life just out of that, but I'm working towards becoming a highschool teacher.

I treeplant in the summer time for most of my income.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
writing, reading, discussing various thinky things, giving massages.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Some oddity. I take strange pauses when talking. I tend to dive into something that's going on in the corner of my brain when there's a pause in the conversation.

I make a lot of jokes that sometimes don't make sense. Humour is a matter of volume.

Mostly poetry. A fair amount of drama and short fiction, relatively few novels. William Shakespeare, Robert Frost, Delmore Schwartz, Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Tennessee Williams, Neil Simon. I'm also really attached to philosophy mostly ancient stuff. I live for books.

Music with good lyrics. Singer songwriters. Townes Van Zandt, Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Clem Snide, Van Morrison, Blaze Foley, Neil Young... I also periodically get into to Doo Wop, or Alt rock, or some real rock and roll stuff... There are times when I need to listen to Daniel Johnston and nothing will be right until I do.

With films and tv shows I tend to like slightly mindless stuff. Although I am a big fan of Woody Allen and The Wire.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Books.
2) My dog Ritchie (he's a German Shepard/Border Collie)
3) My friends.
4) Music
5) A steady stream of new people
6) i'm sure there's one more
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Poetry. Language. Bruce Springsteen. Shakespeare.

There's a sonnet "If the dull substance of my flesh were thought" I like to fantasize about that. Shakespeare makes metaphysical speculation sexy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Havin a time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I used to stammer when I was nervous or excited about a thought. Sometimes I'd stutter too.

I still do what's called cluttering (, where I'll speak really fast and then take odd pauses. Makes me hard to understand when I speak.

You like intellectual or creative exchange. Especially about literature or philosophy. Especially about poetry.

But really anything. I like conversation even at the points where its banal.

Also if you'd like to walk with me and my dog.
