My name is Raj, and I am a 32 year old guy from New York. I was born and raised in Bangladesh (so I am not really Indian), and I moved to the United States 12 years ago for college.

I am passionate about politics, traveling, photography, and learning. I love walking in New York and in foreign cities, taking spontaneous weekend gateways, dining at new and fun restaurants, and traveling. I think I mentioned traveling twice!

I am an investment banker, and I LOVE my job (rarely will you hear that from a banker). However, I also love school, and I sometimes fantasize about going back to school - ideally to Stanford, teaming up with a techie, and starting a startup. I think I will do that someday - life is too short!

A few of my favorite books off the top of my head are: The Millenium Trilogy (Lisbeth Salander rocks!), The Harry Potter series, The World is Flat, The Prophet, The Alchemist, Steve Jobs. I just finished re-reading "Ender's Game."

Here are some of my favorite movies: Love Actually (I love this movie!), Meet Joe Black, Bicentennial Man, Ocean's Eleven, The Shawshank Redemption, Crash, Gladiator, Idiocracy (I fear what is portrayed there could become the reality some day), and Lord of War.

Some TV shows I like are The Mentalist, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones (season 3, yay!), Hustle (A great BBC show - think Ocean's Eleven on steroids every week), and Suits.

Favorite Music: I have an eclectic taste in music, and I like a little bit of everything.

Favorite Food: I am a foodie, and I would try almost anything once. I absolutely love Thai food, Indian food, Turkish food, South African food, Pizza, any fusion food, and pretty much any dish with meat in it. My three most favorite restaurants are in Prague, Montreal, and Portofino.

I am assuming I get some freebies, like air, water, food, family, love, etc. So if we rule out all those answers, I would say I value the following things very much:

2. A computer with a fast Internet connection

3. A nice shower with hot water

4. My iPhone

How I want to be remembered when I die, and what I must do today to be remembered so.

I also spend quite some time thinking about where I want to travel to next (I have a personal rule of visiting 5+ new countries every year). In December, I was in Australia and Hong Kong. In May, I am going to Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Then in July, I will be in Toronto and Quebec City for a few days. If you have any suggestions for August/December, please do write.

I am generally either having dinner with friends or curled up in bed reading a book / watching a movie. Of course, there are some exceptions like two summers ago when I partied all night at a club in Budapest with free-spirited Hungarian women and men to the music of Edward Maya! Or last summer when my sister, a friend, and I partied with an Italian bride and a group of Italian bridesmaids at a gay bar in Rome (long story!).
