My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello there, friend! Twenty something, he/him pronouns, beardo weirdo. Currently living in Olympia, though I'm presently looking at my options for moving up to Seattle or Tacoma in the near future. Some primary interests of mine are music, games (digital and otherwise), craftiness (particularly knitting and sewing, though I'm still pretty beginner with both), and programming. I am told by those close to me that I am a kind person, interesting and of good humor; I guess if that sounds neat to you then send me a message thing!

If you're into that sort of thing, I've got a Tumblr at:
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently in that flux state between degree and employment, trying to find a way to turn "education" into "money". Other than that, my time is mostly portioned out amongst creative efforts (esp. music), internet wandering, spending time with friends, and generally keeping varying levels of real and unreal.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I come up with bad puns and dad jokes like it's an Olympic sport. Also, I'm pretty into doing chopped 'n' screwed versions of songs nobody ever wanted chopped nor screwed. (I have this idea in my head of doing an all Kidz Bop slowdown mix and calling it "Bopped 'n' Screwed".) I'm pretty good at vidya games, too. But mostly, I guess I just try to be a good person and a good friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I dunno, have never really asked people? I guess maybe my haircut or something? Sometimes I exude a certain playful awkwardness in my mannerisms, like an odd shifty-eye here or an ironic grimace there, so I'll just go with that. Or maybe my generally neutral-tone wardrobe just really grabs attention.

Music's the big one for me, and there's a lot to say there, so I'll try to give a sampling of some of my current faves right here: (I also have a, though I've had it since high school so my tastes have shifted a lot and I dunno how accurate it really is anymore: )

Ab-Soul, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Arling & Cameron, the Bad Plus, Bjork, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Brian Eno, Clams Casino, Clara Rockmore, Coil, Crass, Current 93, Danny Brown, Death Grips, Death In June, Demdike Stare, DJ Screw, Earth, Ellie Goulding, Elton John, Erasure, Frank Ocean, Funki Porcini, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Grimes, Groove Armada, Hallucinogen, Health, Heems, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, iamamiwhoami, Isaiah Rashad, John Coltrane, Jonwayne, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Killer Mike, Killing Joke, Lana Del Rey, Manu Chao, (some) Merzbow, Miles Davis, Mykki Blanco, the Necks, OG Ron C, oOoOO, The Orb, Orbital, Philip Glass, Purity Ring, Refused, Robyn, Schoolboy Q, Scout Niblett, Steve Reich, Susumu Yokota, Sza, the Tassilli Players, Thinking Plague, Throbbing Gristle, White Ring, William Basinski... and probably others I either missed or aren't on my iTunes at the moment for some reason.

I'm coming to terms with the fact that I have a short attention span, which makes it a bit difficult to keep with books sometimes; at the moment I have about a shelf's worth of books I "intend" on finishing up sometime. Mostly non-fiction, because learning is FUN, but I'm also into some good scifi or fantasy, especially stuff of a weirder or philosophical bent (Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov type stuff). I also like a lot of comics and graphic novels, with some faves being The Invisibles, Akira, Watchmen, Promethea, Doom Patrol, and a handful of smaller-press stuff.

For movies, some directors I dig are Darren Aronofsky, Alejandro Jodorowsky, the Coen brothers, Harmony Korine, Paul Verhoeven, Stanley Kubrick, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, and Pixar (okay, that one wasn't a director, but their stuff is collectively pretty good). Beyond that, some particular movies I've enjoyed include I (Heart) Huckabees, Pacific Rim, Akira (again), Grizzly Man, Stalker, Night of the Living Dead, and others. But ultimately I'm really more about the theater movie experience over watching something at home, usually.

I haven't been watching many shows lately, mostly because (as I mentioned before) short attention span makes dedicating to a show regularly difficult; plus I don't watch much TV anyway. Mostly I'll just watch stuff from YouTube. I really dig a lot of Adult Swim's lineup though, especially stuff from Abso Lutely (i.e. Tim and Eric, Check It Out, Eric Andre, etc.). Also, been getting into watching WWE, because dudes in tiny pants frowning and being dramatic and throwing each other around is beautiful.

Also, though it isn't mentioned under the header for this section, I'm pretty into games, of all the video, board, and roleplaying varieties. For video games, I'm pretty into weird little indie games, but also a lot of rogue-likes and RPGs. Board games: Dominion (doesn't technically use a board but whatev), Settlers of Catan, Arkham Horror, Munchkin (also no board, blah blah), and a lot of the more "classic" board games. Tabletop roleplaying, while I've technically only played DnD 3.5 and 4E, I have a stack of different systems I've been meaning to try out, in particular FATE, Apocalypse World, Shadowrun, Unknown Armies, Polaris, and a handful of others.

As for food: I dunno, pretty much anything, feed me
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Again, in no particular order:

* my cat
* quad-ruled graph paper notebook
* some musical instrument
* new things to learn
* internet access
* high fives
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Music, games, social equality, ~*aesthetics*~, checking my privileges, Shrek, possums, "internet art", how to coax David Tibet and Danny Brown into collaborating, hyperspecific memes (like it's a picture of Aragorn but he's talking about corn prices or asbestos removal or whatever), kitties and puppies and other small versions of animals.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably hanging out with friends at someone's house, or at home online or working on some music project or something. Occasionally, if fortune is smiling on my wallet, might be out getting a drink somewhere (prolly Cryptatropa).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Honestly, I'm pretty open about most things, but I guess this is prolly a good place to mention that I have depression, anxieties, and a bit of ADHD (of the inattentive variety, to be specific). Not that I make these a "private thing" necessarily, but just so you know going in.

Also, I used to have a thing here talking about my participation in the Amphibilon rebellion against the Reptiloid tyranny from Alpha Centauri, but ever since the overthrow happened and the Treaty of Io was signed I've kinda put that in my past; nowadays I just do what I can to help maintain galactic peace.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
... you're an interesting person, generally chill and of good humor, and if I give you a similar impression. Preferably, include a comment or question about something neat you see on my profile, just to jump-start past all the awkward "Hi..." "How are you..." stuffs.

Oh! On another note entirely, if you speak Esperanto at all (or are interested) and want to practice speaking it together, you should message me as well! I'm working at learning it, and having someone else to speak it with would be great.

Note: I'm absolutely hell when it comes to messages on here, so apologies in advance if it takes me a couple days at a time to respond.
