My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Update: I'm involved with someone right now, and not currently looking for romantic partners.

I am passionate, ambitious, and intelligent.

I'm an engineer and somewhat of a nerd. If something is broken, I first figure out if I can fix it. I constantly think about how things work, or about the origin of some word or phrase.

My Job:
I am the Manager of Release Engineering at a Database Software company in Cambridge. I am very good at my job, and well respected at work. I enjoy my job, and left to my own devices have been known to be a workaholic. But lately, I'm coming home and leaving the job at the office.

My Second "Job":
I sing in the chorus of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. This is completely volunteer, but we are compensated for travel, food and lodging when we travel. It takes up a fair amount of my free time.

Previous to my current job, I played poker for a living for 6 years.
I haven't played in 3 years, but I'm starting to get the itch again (for much lower stakes, and much less seriously), and would love to hear from you if you'd be interested in going to Foxwoods to play.

Who I'm looking for:
I often get free tickets to the Symphony, and would love to find someone who enjoys going with me. I love to eat good food, and often relax by doing a crossword puzzle, or watching a movie or some silly TV. I enjoy going out with friends, and want to find someone who will enjoy meeting them, and introducing me to their friends. I'm looking for someone to have great conversations and experiences with.

I was raised Catholic, but am not religious at all. So if religion is important to you, I'm not the romantic partner for you. But that does not mean we can't be friends.

I know it's blasphemy, but I don't follow the Red Sox.

I have no tolerance for ignorance, arrogance, or intolerance.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working hard, singing whenever I can, and trying to find a life partner.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Solving problems.
Crossword puzzles.
Finding the optimal route from point A to point B which goes through the least number of traffic lights.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't actually know. Some have said my confidence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I am very easily entertained, and am willing to watch just about anything.

Once upon a Time, Grey's Anatomy, So You think you can dance, Naked Science, Top chef, Kitchen Nightmares, Masterchef, Anything with poker, Hell's Kitchen, Coupling (The British series, not the American), Law and Order SVU, Shark Tank.

Movies (Some of my favorites; I enjoy most movies):
The Godfather I and II (III was missable), Dead Poet's society, Schindler's list, The recent Batman (Dark Knight) movies, Die Hard N, Terminator N, Rounders, When Harry met Sally. Better off Dead, Grosse Point Blank, Fight Club, anything with Edward Norton in it.

Food: I love all cuisines. I love to eat, even though looking at me you wouldn't know it. Some standouts: Sushi, Thai, Italian, Ethiopian, Indian.
I also love to cook, but don't take the time enough to do it very often. It's so much more fun/satisfying to cook for other people than just myself.
I make a mean Fettucini Alfredo, and a killer chocolate cheesecake.

I really enjoy crime dramas (Think Law and Order in a book). I've recently been working my way though Richard Patterson's Alex Cross Novels. I have also enjoyed fantasy (Lord of the Rings, Piers Anthony, Guy Gavriel Kay) and other novels (Shogun, Phantom of the Opera, Jurassic park).

If I'm not listening to classical, I'm probably listening to classic rock. I also enjoy jazz and the very occasional hot thing on the radio these days (but not often; a lot of the radio today sounds like Justin Bieber which makes me vomit.)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Why six? Why not 5 or 7? Anyway...

My cats
My friends
My family
My singing
My computer
World Peace. Uh Oh, better learn to live with disappointment...

Seriously, the list is so generic as to be useless. A slightly more interesting list:

Good conversation
Good sex
Good food
My Car
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The words to the next piece I'm singing.
How to fix something broken at work.
How something works.
What I should or should not have said in my profile or questions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm not performing, I'm either out with friends, home relaxing with a Crossword puzzle or book, or catching up on some TV.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a fan of the Oxford comma.
