My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am creative, smart, and have a bit of geek in me. However, I am a pretty complicated guy looking for the right kind of girl that I am comfortable around.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My adult life is best summarized for my volunteerism.

My first major act of volunteerism was doing missionary work in Haiti. I was part of a team that delivered medical supplies to different parts of the country. We were able to help many people especially children. While there, major elections took place with grenade attacks and burning road blocks to intimidate voters. I still think a lot about Haiti especially after the massive 2010 earthquake there. Many of the places we stayed or visited were destroyed and the death toll was unfathomable.

The September 11th attacks in 2001 were life-changing events for me. I really understood the gravity of that moment well. My dad, who was working through FEMA at the time, was called to New York City to help those in need. I have his blue construction helmet that he used at Ground Zero to keep as a reminder. For me it began a journey into politics. For the most part I was a volunteer but sometimes I was paid to cover basic expenses. During my time in politics I was a little bit of everything which included being the guy knocking on doors, to organizing events, writing press releases, being that vote on some random committee, and managing a few campaigns. It was a lot of work and I learned a lot too.

After 8 years it was time for me to move on. I have always had a knack for web design since high school. I was one of those Governor's School geeks and that started my interest in designing and programming. While I was in politics my skill at online technology was very handy. Over the past few years I have been brushing up on my knowledge and skills. My latest project has been building an online presence for a local history museum as a resource for the community. Currently the project is more successful than I imagined it could be for an organization that could not otherwise have afforded such a project.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Grasping the big picture and knowing how events are likely to unfold down the road in a general manner.
The first things people usually notice about me

Books and movies I love, but I prefer to discuss them in person. I will though mention one movie, actually it is a documentary, as a plug because my best friend helped shoot it. It is called "Rising From Ashes."

As far as music goes, I listen to a wide range from classical, movie scores, and jazz to alternative, punk, and some metal if I am feeling rambunctious enough. It is not uncommon for me to listen to electronic music while I am programming on the computer.

Food. I love food... fresh seafood, Italian, or food from all over the world... and Texas BBQ (Don't Mess with Texas!). I love to cook for others.

Although these are not related to the above, I love the smell of a camp fire. I find the stars at night just absolutely beautiful and amazing. I love walking on empty beaches on warm summer nights. I love thunderstorms and how they smell.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Over Christmas my dad expressed how proud he was of me for all the things I have done for the community and beyond. I could see the feelings welling up inside of him. It was the best compliment I ever had about my work.
