My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm not really here to socialize. I just made a login for the sake of having one, for quizzes and such.

I'm not looking for playmates at all, and my personal time is full up as it is, so please don't ask. If you're looking for online friendship, you'll have better luck talking to me on FetLife - I'm unlikely to respond to you here.

I live with my partner and metamour in Silicon Valley, and spend several days a week with my lover and his wife in the East Bay. I spent a lot of time serving my religious community, and the rest of my time in arts and scholarship. My schedule is thus very, very full.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm in graduate school for Counseling Psychology, having taken a bit more than a year off following my graduation with a BA in Religious Studies.

I currently work as a cover artist and general person-of-use for Fantastic Fiction Publishing. You can find my work (eBooks and print) at
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
pattern matching. Most of what I do amounts to variations on that theme - counseling, ritual design, arts and crafts, engineering, troubleshooting, dream interpretation, divination, gaming and puzzles, etc.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair, my "warm" personality, my laugh, my tendency to talk way too much about geeky things and religion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Lately I'm practically evangelical about Seanan McGuire's Toby Daye series. My first and last love will always be Lewis Carrol's Alice. I collect the works of Neil Gaiman and Brian and Wendy Froud. High fantasy in general is a safe bet for fiction.

Most of the non-fiction I read these days is religious studies or psychology.

Movies I'm not as deeply into, but again, high fantasy draws me. I'm unlikely to miss any Tolkien/Jackson movies.

I don't watch a lot of TV, but when I do it's things like Doctor Who or the Food Network.

My favorite music is probably folk music, especially Celtic folk music, rock 'n' reel, and I've got a soft spot for both filk and protest music. But really anything with a good melody and interesting lyrics is fair game.

Food? Anyone who knows me can tell you: Bring on the basil pesto and feta cheese. Lamb and squash with yogurt meat sauce. Caramel, custard, spice cake, or pie for dessert please. Chai makes me happy - anything with cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg is delightful. I love most Mediterranean cuisines, but can't do spicy chiles at all.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
love, sleep, caffeine, cheese, craft supplies, learning
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
You can cut out the "about" part. I spend a lot of time thinking. Perhaps too much, even. I'm frequently accused of over-analyzing.

I'm honest, though - if you ask me what I'm thinking, I'll usually tell you exactly what. If I ask you what you're thinking, it's not a trick question, I really AM curious what was going through your head JUST THEN.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hesitantly learning to cook under the guidance of my lover, hanging out with him and his wife, and either preparing for weekend religious committments, or heading home to my partner and metamour.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My morbid curiosity kicks in long before my squick. (If I admit it here, it's not even remotely private, now is it?)

You don't mind that I almost certainly won't answer.

I assure you it's nothing personal, it's just that I'm only on OKCupid for the questions and quizzes.
