Body type

My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
ADD friendly list of things that make my pupils dilate, heart-rate quicken, dopamine levels rise, all that good stuff:

Alan Watts as my religion, David Cain as a current favorite essayist, Dan Gilbert and Daniel Kahneman as my favorite happiness psychology researchers, hypem (music discovering), couchsurfing (both hosting and surfing), dresses with pockets, dancing with abandon (this dancer makes me want to do nothing but dance, ever again), lakes (the ocean, really all bodies of water...mostly large ones), learning languages, music festivals, radiolab, reddit, running.

Word to those on the OKC app: I put a lot of links in my profile that you can't see, so if some of it doesn't make sense, that's probably why.

For those who know and are interested in MBTI types:
I am an ISFP, but if you know much about the types you could have guessed that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Moved here from the midwest in October 2012, and am working at Keio's Clinical Research Center (doing statsy stuff for public health). Bout 2.5 years down, 1.5 to go.

Because why not?

Aside from that boring stuff, I'm currently in an international dance battle with my sister in MN and a friend of ours in China. And trying to teach myself guitar, and hula-hoop dance.
Edit: Failed at both of those attempts but my hula hoop and guitar make great decorations in my apartment.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Chopsticks. JK, I'm terrible. I know false flattery when I see it.
Making fantastic music playlists.
Listening with Sincerity.
Having Perspective.
Dancing like a fool.
Keeping in touch.
Losing things.
Making imbalanced (yet annoyingly almost balanced) lists of things that I'm really good at, to fuck with your brain's desire for patterns.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I never had an answer to this, but I suppose it might be my smile. I was recently (not so recently since I wrote this long ago now) asked to go out for coffee by a stranger on a bike because he was so *enchanted* by my smile...
I accepted, and it was nice, but he stared slightly too long and complimented me a little too much.

People often comment that they feel comfortable around me, and they are more open about themselves as a result of this.
I strive to connect to people by truly listening to what they're saying, without judgment.
If you think this lack of judgment means I don't have critical reasoning, you are mistaken.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
Exercise, Dance, Music, Playfulness, Curiosity (both Intellectual and Experiential), the Sun
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I should be thinking less. Meta.

Also, how ridiculously small the Tokyo expat okcupid community is. I kind of want to have a party with everyone on here, and get everyone to meet everyone else all at once, because I keep having the weirdest mutual friend coincidences with people here.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Ideally: dancing, exploring new live music venues, art galleries, running followed by beer with hashers, waxing philosophical with new friends here, hosting couchsurfers. Biking once I get one here.

Edit: Got one. It's a pretty standard mamachari but it gets me around and unchains me from last train.
Edit #2: Dammit. Lost the key to the lock on it while hiking Fuji.
Edit #3: Lock removed by a dear friend, now to fix the punched tire..
Edit #4: Punched tire fixed and happily riding alll over this gorgeous city.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm actually a mid-40s Salaryman, who steals photos from facebook pages and pays my gaijin secretary to write my profile. Hope you don't mind much.

I will admit that I am less extroverted and high-energy than my profile, I mean, my secretary....makes me out to be.
