This foray into online dating is new to me (though technically I joined in 2006, I have only been active here since late July of this year).

this website is a big buzzing room...we really have no idea what everyone is on here doing. chatting online is dangerous; you can become attached that way, emotionally, and then wind up standing in front of City Hall for half an hour waiting for the date you've never met to show up. and then crying from humiliation that the ghost you were chatting with online is a faker...or not? he's regretful and he's sorry, but how do you know to trust him again? how do you know not to?

I don't really know what anyone's intentions on here are. Maybe we are all just different flavors in the candy shop, and after the first sight or smell we get passed over. I'm probably guilty of that too. It all seems so superficial and perfunctory. But addictive.
