I am warmhearted, quirky, and passionate.

My Self-Summary

I am a warm-hearted, quirky, yet compassionate old soul who has a lot of love to give yet is very picky. I am passionate about health & wellness, especially that of others, children/young adults with a love for music and the arts. I am a lover of nature and animals, especially dogs. I truly live for all the little simplicities that life so graciously offers such as the warm glow of a campfire, fireflies on a warm summer evening, the smells and colors of autumn, low rumblings of thunder, an appreciative smile or knowing you've been able to be a positive role model or aspect in someone's life, the rich velvet colors of moulin rouge sunflowers, symphonies of cicadas and peep frogs, and love in every form imaginable...such an amazing and wonderous thing that we too often take for granted.

What I’m doing with my life

I recently finished my B.S. in Health and Wellness Promotion and I am currently working with teenagers and tobacco prevention/grant work. However...on the weekends I get to be the weekend cafe worker and meet all kinds of new and interesting people that happen to come through my door.
Otherwise...I love to experiment with culinary kitchen endeavors, go antiquing, hiking, sing, play with photography, kickbox, read, explore, spend quality time with beloved ones, experience the world around me and all the beautiful simplicities that life has to offer

I’m really good at

I would like to believe that:
I'm spiffy with culinary endeavors
I can sing rather well and thoroughly enjoy doing so
I am a lovely listener, I tend to be the compassionate/considerate "mother hen" of the group at times...likewise I work with adolescents, so I feel as if I can be counted on and looked to for advice in certain situations and will always do my best to help in any way that I am capable of. I genuinely care about people
Health related endeavors of the wellness promotion kind
I'm rather swell at conversation and suchness
Being dependable and honest, I've never liked the alternative or appreciated it.
I think I'm an amazing cuddler...yes...because I love it so
I like photography...I am no Ansel Adams...but I do enjoy it

The first things people usually notice about me

I would like to think that people are generally comfortable around me, I'm not a threatening person. I am a very warmhearted individual and I believe most who meet me sense that.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Melodious Loves!:
Robert Plant/Zepplin, Alison Krauss, Rasputina, Midlake, Iron & Wine, Raveonettes, The Cure, The Flaming Lips, Steve Miller Band, Sun Kil Moon, Beirut, Sigur Ros, Calexico, Depeche Mode, Sia, Devotchka, Bread, Mazzy Star, Cake, Interpol, Camera Obscura, Smashing Pumpkins, VAST, Nickel Creek, Sufjan Stevens ...so many
Picturesque Adorations!:
Harvey, Boondock Saints, Pan's Labyrinth, Garden State, What Dreams May Come, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Big Fish (I'm a sucker for Tim Burton or Jimmy Stewart, older black and white movies or silent films on the big screen sweep me off my feet), etc.
Savory Sensations!:
Middle Eastern (I love Indian food and adore cooking it), Wholesome, vegan but not a veganazi, avocadoes, raspberries, tempura sweet potato sushi!, mushrooms, Lentils, many veggies...many fruits...warm homemade breads...good red wines (Merlots mainly but I'm up for many)

Lovely Literature:
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass -House of Leaves ~ Mark Z. Danielewski -The Omnivore's Dillema ~ Michael Pollan Want read some Tom Robbin's, all my reading lately has been of work related/health

The six things I could never do without

1) I could never do with out the support and immense love of my family and close friends. They are my rocks and the ones that I can always count on being there no matter what situation was to perchance come my way.

2) Music is a quintessential piece to my persona...it awakens my soul, stirs my emotions, and I adore how it can effortlessly seems to flow through every fiber of my being. There really isn't a certain genre that I prefer most...I gravitate toward whatever happens to make sweet love to my ears at the moment

3) My Nina...she is my precious little chihuahua...that I never planned on getting. The plan was to get a German Shepherd...or an Aidi...but I never planned on a chihuahua. She lights up a room with her quirky little personality and loves unconditionally...which is one of the best aspects a dog can bring into your life

4) All of many beautiful simplicities that life has to offer us that we too often overlook or take for granted.

5) Sunflowers...they are amazingly beautiful in so many ways...especially the red velvet/rust colored ones or Moulin Rouges...

6) Love...in every aspect it represents...we too often take love for granted as well...there are so many forms. Not in an...All You Need Is Love...corny deal, but rather a very humble, whimsical yet realistic way of treating the world and those around you each day. Warmth...and warm fuzzies never fail to make me smile...in a quiet and gracious way

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Randomosity, the moment, the future, the uncertain yet exciting aspects that life holds, work-related aspects, life...and loved ones...

On a typical Friday night I am

It really depends, I could be working with the youth at an event, relaxing at home, out at a local concert or event, spending time with beloved ones, reading...camping would be nice...

You should message me if

I suppose I am looking for a kindred spirit, someone with depth, warmth, and a kind heart that isn't afraid to share it. Someone that I can enjoy a stimulating/intelligent conversation with and feel comfortable with just cuddled and cozy indoors when the weather isn't so welcoming. Someone who shares some of the same interests, is mature yet light-hearted and maybe a kid at heart. Someone who is trustworthy, considerate, and above all honest.
Really...a kindred soul...
