I am a free spirit who feels at home in the wilderness and as a compromise, lives slightly outside the large city. I have a mobile telephone but never have it on, the house is always in a state of slight mess no matter how hard I try to keep things where they belong. I know how to dress well and will do so if it is expected, but there are times that I just want to be *myself* and to hell with what others want. Anyway, good attire does not turn me on that much, last time I fell in love with a girl on first glance, she was wearing an size badly matching pullover. My favorite animal is the duck. My favorite credo (translated from dutch): if it can't be done the way it should, then it should be done the way it can.

I believe that it is a goal in itself to find back some of our roots and ideally be capable of living largely without modern society or on its fringe. Uhm... I have a mobile telephone but never have it on, the house is always in a state of slight mess no matter how hard I try to keep things where they belong. I know how to dress well and will do so if it is expected. Last time I fell in love with a girl on first glance, she was wearing an size badly matching pullover. I usually don't find fashion models attractive. I think, love on first glance has good odds to turn into a nightmare, so it's something to be careful with.

What I’m doing with my life

I suppose just wasting time working, career building and getting PHD degree and all that. This summer my contract is over and I intend to travel & experience a bit. I just realized that I was on a way to postpone life until after retirement (like so many of us do) and thus now I refuse to make plans for the next few years or so.

I am a crazy inventor, mad scientist as well as artist who wants to create a new gizmo every week. There's a lot of stuff in my cupboard of which no one would recognize its purpose. I would like to be able to do everything myself even if I realize this is a silly dream, I keep trying.

I’m really good at

improvising, reaching the goal in an unorthodox manner. I am flexible, good at handling changes. I don't do things by the book, I tear up the book and rewrite it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

usually all fantasy / scifi books and movies, other than that action and thriller stuff. Instruction videos and documentaries for when I do not feel lobotomized or tired. Uh well, I can enjoy most movies if the company is right.

The music I have right now is within temptation.. in the car it's rhapsody.. that and similar bands I like most. I use dance/heavy metal/hardstyle to get energized, meditational music to get calm.

Food: anything that is not disgusting or acrid. Willing to try out many things. I am very fond of asian food.

The six things I could never do without

things we cannot do without make us weak and therefore, I strive to be able to do without many such things.

This is not saying that I am the new homo erectus. I really like it to be able to brush my teeth in the morning under running water.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

developing alternate fuel sources, ways to live in the stone age parttime. All the while, writing my own fantasy novel that will never get done but the heck with it. Different inventions. Whether a passing bird is a duck. How to create the chaos I require to live LIFE.

On a typical Friday night I am
