My self-summary
Well, I spent the last two years in beautiful Berkeley CA, and I am now back in Paris so to finish school, yeah!
To tell the truth, it feels a bit weird for now. Everything looks uncanny and I feel kina lost in my own country. I miss my life in Berkeley right now and I miss speaking in English all the time. Every good thing has to end one day, so I guess it’s time to move on and to rebuild something here.
Plus, I'm sure that Paris has some good sides too...at least plenty of museums, overcrowded sidewalks and angry people.

I’m doing a lot of b&w photography in my spare time and even try some alternative and ancient processes, which is very time consuming.
Do some sports too like tennis, squash and climbing, difficult to do without, god bless endorphin!

I’m rather a calm and discreet kind of person I guess. I’m a rather good company to hang out with, quite funny and nice. It takes me some time to get very comfortable with people but after I’m trustfully. I’d rather make some very good friends than a lot of acquaintances I’d never get to really know.

I am reserved, sarcastic, and why not?
What I’m doing with my life
Work on my dissertation in Film (the subject is way too lame to be worth explaining it here) and look for a nice and well paid part-time job (I'm a dreamer, I know).
Try to enjoy Paris as much as I can. I'm feeling a bit like a tourist right now.
I’m really good at
At not enough things I’m afraid, but I’m trying to improve
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes I guess, when I stay silent, and my accent in English for sure as soon as I open my mouth, too good to be true according to most bus drivers in SF…
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
In American Litt, I really enjoyed all Bret Easton Ellis’ books as well as James Ellroy’s. Now I’m trying some other genres. I recently discovered Jay McInerney and currently reading A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, good so far. I’m still too bad to try great books, I tried Melville once…and just gave up after a few pages….
A lot of French Litt, mostly “classical” XIXème century stuff: Rimbaud, Verlaine, Baudelaire, Balzac, Zola, Dumas and so on. When it comes to XX French litt, I totally bet on Michel Houellebecq.

Movies? Or Films? When it comes to Films I like a lot but I’m just gonna cite here a few directors I’m working on by now: Theo Angelopoulos, Béla Tarr, Sharunas Bartas, Alexander Sokurov, Zhang Ke Jia, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Tarkovsky, Antonioni.
I like movies too: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Fight Club, Into the Wild, Point Break, Alien’s series, The City of Lost Children etc, and TV Shows: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Freaks and Geeks, The Office, 30 Rock, The Wire, Peep Show.

Music: I listen to a lot of different things but not too much of reggae or techno. By now, a lot of Andrew Bird, The Decemberists, Iron and Wine, The Dutchess and the Duke, Herman Düne, Belle and Sebastian. A lot of classical music too, but as a novice that does not really understand it. A lot of French singers, old and new: Brel, Ferré, Delerm, Aldebert, Barbara, Aldebert, Les Cowboys Fringants…and some french hip hop: NTM, Assassin, TTC, L'Atelier...
When it comes to food I’m really not difficult and enjoy like, “everything” I would say.
The six things I could never do without
In a non hierarchical order, lets say: friends, still and moving images, music and sounds, sceneries, travel, books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How my brain is empty
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends at home or out, hitting the books if needed, playing tennis, climbing, drinking tea and reading a novel, going to the pictures…oh my…why is there only one Friday night per week…
