I'm Sahra. I'm a body piercer at Tiki Tattoos in Groton, CT. I'm
also a full-time student at Connecticut College, studying
psychology with a minor in philosophy. My research and my general
aim in life focuses on addressing the misrepresentation and
misconception of modified people in academic and mainstream
spheres. I'm hoping to make a positive impact and a good
impression.

What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on my thesis and bachelor's degree and piercing full
time. When I graduate in the spring of 2010, I'm going to give
myself a much-needed break. I'm hoping to stay in Southeastern CT
for a year or so, just piercing and taking my sweet time.
I’m really good at
Picking up new things. I'm a quick learner and a good teacher. I'm
a good body piercer and a good musician. I'm an excellent listener.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
No matter how sad I am, the movie Labyrinth will always cheer me
up. I feel the same about sushi, and incorporate it into my diet
even when I can't afford to do so.
My all time favorite band is the Beatles, but a more recent favorite of mine is the band Murder By Death. I also love David Bowie, Vance Gilbert, Placebo, and The Smiths.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about what I think. Sometimes it's
hard to sort through my ideas.

On a typical Friday night I am
Working late at Tiki Tattoos. Then I'll usually do something
rebellious and daring like cook dinner or watch a movie. My snake
is usually hanging out, as are my friends. A great Friday night
incorporates sushi, a jam session with my many musical friends, and
a late night coffee run.
