I am funny, geeky, and a little bit crazy.
My Self-Summary
American, 23, been in London for four years, like it quite a bit,
plan on staying. Like going out and partying, but I'd much rather
just sit down over a drink and talk late into the night.
Interests include: languages, theater, politics (I'm a total news
junkie), books, movies, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Working away at an MA at SOAS, working part-time in a candy store
just to pay the bills.
I’m really good at
Talking, listening.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty blunt, I have a seriously dirty mind and love making bad
jokes. Opinions are generally divided on the virtues of those
traits.
Also, I'm Quaker, which isn't one of the first things that people
notice about me but does seem to be something they always ask
about. (And to answer your questions: yes, we can use electricity,
and no, we don't have anything to do with porridge.)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Currently reading the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons, cos I
needed some trashy sci-fi to take the edge off of all the hardcore
reading I have to do for my MA. Generally go for higher-brow stuff
than that, though. Favorite books include "Crime and Punishment",
"The Great Gatsby", "Mrs. Dalloway", anything by David Sedaris, and
books about languages and linguistics. Wouldn't touch Dan Brown
with a ten-foot pole.
Movies: Favorite film ever is "The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and
her Lover". I like artsier stuff, although I also love my cheesy
sci-fi and I'm a massive Star Wars fan. I can't take rom-coms and
stupid comedies, but anything else is good.
Music: Alternative, indie rock, electronica, pop (but only in clubs
to dance to). I'm also a fan of classical music, although I don't
know enough about it. Finally, I was brought up listening to folk,
folk rock, and blues and I still love for all of those.
Food: I will eat anything that's put in front of me, but I'm also a
bit of a foodie at heart.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
At Popstarz, actually. Not the same since they left the Scala...
Either that or (especially lately) staying in trying to catch up on
reading for class...
You should message me if
you, uh, want to? Or if you're a supermodel - then you should
*definitely* message me.
