My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Being 6'2" I'm easy to spot in a crowded room. You'll end up laughing...a lot. The natural world balances me and a great deal of art, photography, literature, architecture and especially cinema inform and inspire me. I like to surround myself with people who are creative, nonjudgmental, curious dreamers who want to make the world a better place because this is who I am.

I have lived in NYC for 15 years interrupted by time spent in LA, Berkeley, Boston and currently Philadelphia. I am touched with wanderlust and am equipped to create a life anywhere with the right person.

Some of my other favorite things are the sounds and flashes of thunderstorms, strolling though the natural world, biking across the city, hearing bits of conversation between two strangers, watching the world nestled in a cafe, an incredibly cooked piece of fish, a stack of books within arms reach of my bed, a yoga pose that reminds me how inflexible I am, driving on a summer's eve with the windows down and music up, the very start of a train trip, drifting off to sleep on an empty beach, my brother and my dear friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Figuring it out, starting a project, chasing happiness, and attempting to live in the present. Yoga and stretching, sitting is my enemy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Noticing the details that others miss in life. The art of play. Seeking adventures. I've been told I make good wedding toasts. I am open to trying things I haven't done or places I haven't been to. I am a willing accomplice.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can easily start a conversation with anyone yet also like to silently observe life. Obviously I tend to write a bit.

Wow, that's hard to answer. I'll just start typing but honestly this list could be revised daily....… books on Buddhism, cinema, travel writers, weak on the classics, science fiction, brain science...next movies - I have a passion for film and can’t really list all that have influenced, inspired, comforted and moved me but here is my little tally: Old star driven films with Cary, Audrey and Ingrid as well as great number of French, independent and foreign films, and the Janus and Criterion collections. Some directors I that inspire are Michel Gondry, Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Ang Lee, Alexander Payne, Billy Wyler, Hayao Miyazaki and some films are Three Colors Trilogy, Manon of the Spring, Elephant Man, Beauty and the Beast "46", A Separation, Das Boot, Saving Private Ryan, Betty Blue, Wings of Desire, Let the Right One In (Swedish Version), Head On, Little White Lies, ...let's take a crack at TV - I don't own one but use Netflix and YouTube - some shows -Band of Brothers, BattleStar Galatica 2004 (some episodes a bit wandering), Wire in The Blood (little tough at times), Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander, Orange is the New Black, lots of British dramas, mysteries, period pieces like Doc Martin, Dr. Who, Downton Abby, and PBS shows Nature, Frontline, Bill Moyers, ... I read BBC news and NYT online ....music..yikes.. - 80's, electronic, old crooners, some classical, ambient, electronic, French pop, reggae and have been doing a lot of internet radio lately & podcasts like, Tune-In radio, Soma FM, The Treatment, Buddhist Geeks , On Being....food..this is getting ridiculous...fresh, organic when possible, eating fish and vegetables since college, Japanese, Indian, Mediterranean ... let me leave some of these favorites for when we meet. If you don't have any idea what I have written..that could be a great sign...I am sure you have an inspiring list.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Film, preferably well made.
2. An enlightening conversation
3. Fresh, tasty simply made food
4. A project, idea or thread to follow
5. The sun, heat and warm water to slip into
6. A possibility, the unknown, change
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The meaning and humor of it all, where to travel to next and living abroad.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I seem to have mostly avoided the typical in my life. No reason to start the weekend this way.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Ok, ..America is a declining empire but we still make some dam good films and TV. My life's secrets will be divulged quietly in the booth of an empty restaurant.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You tell the truth, even when it hurts. You are kind, have a developed sense of humor, enjoy nature and feel the urge to create..anything . The struggles and challenges you have faced have only made you more open and understanding. You're just dam fun to be with. You can also be pissed off & lazy at times, cry, not sure and struggle with it all - you lead a felt life. If you were born outside of the US or believe that other cultures make your life rich then we will get along.
