I am a 40-something Dr. Zaius type former Archaeologist who likes beer, and it shows. I am a recent widower (January, 2011). I spend my weekends writing, playing games, making art and short films. I am a maker, I like to build stuff from from jewelry to robots. I am trying to get a makerspace going up here in NWA. I live in a house with 1 dog, and 5 cats. I enjoy cooking, but not for myself alone. I am a pseudo-vegetarian (ovo-lacto-pescatarian), though I am not an asshat about out.

My profile name is part of my UNIX login name from college. I would change it if I could. I didn't think about what it could mean when I selected it.

I am currently working as a techno-geek for a large retailer that you have probably heard of. I work a lot, maybe too much. I like to read but have trouble finding/making the time. I direct and produce an internet video podcast on sustainability and green technology. I have several local nonprofits that I volunteer with. I am the founder and force behind a Northwest Arkansas makerspace that is looking for a space.

I am pretty good at reading people, plot lines, and comics. I am once again trying my hand at being a professional photographer and some of my friends say that I am talented. I am a damn good procrastinator. I am really good and thinking that I am going to win board games and then failing to do so.

I am apparently one of those familiar looking people. Very often people will think that they know me, but it is just my common face. I have been told that I have nice eyes. They are blue. . . meh.

Books: Into thin air (Jon Krakauer), anything by Douglas Coupland, Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Richard Bach, or Steven Lacey <- if you haven't read him, look him up on Amazon. His self-published novel, Everything in it's Right Place, is amazing.
I just read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. If you are a member of my generation, you will love it.

Comics: Walking Dead, Cowboys and Aliens, Powers, Y -the last man.

TV: I watch one show on TV religiously and that is The Walking Dead. There are some others that I check out like Big Bang Theory, Sherlock, and Breaking Bad

Movies: Garden State, Jaws, Chasing Amy, Lost in Translation, Batman Begins, Star Wars,

Music: Rush, Radiohead, TMBG, Wilco, Caroline's Spine, Mumford & Sons, Gnarls Barkley.
Pretty much anything that isn't ganster rap or Pop country.

Foods: (I am a total foodie) Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Japanese(sushi), pizza.

Friends, good food, beer, laughter, music, oxygen.

Everything. I enjoy learning new things and spend a lot of my internet time researching new and different skills.
Sometimes my mind will invent a crazy situation, and I will have to work through a solution like a logic problem. Often, these will turn into new story ideas.

I enjoy playing board or card games with friends, unless I am exhausted from work, then I try to catch up on the stuff I missed while working. I check a collection of DIY websites and maybe watch some recorded, DVD, or Netflix TV shows, read, or just play video games.

I am a nerd and am afraid that I might actually be a social reject.
I suck at dating because I never know what women are thinking.
