I am eccentric, bewitching, and clever.

My Self-Summary

I'm filling these sections out in my spare time, so kindly bear with me as I answer the easiest ones to write first. This is not an easy one, in case you wondered. It's also, apparently, the hardest.

Also- things have gotten incredibly busy in my life since about July. I admit I pretty much haven't read or responded to any emails since then. I apologize for this. It is not my intent to ignore people.

What I’m doing with my life

I am a customer service rep and a single Mom. I focus more on my personal, familial, social, and spiritual life than professional life, as I derive more satisfaction from nurturing than working. This is a fairly new realization, so I'm also spending time fleshing out that thought and deciding what it means for my life and aspirations.

I’m really good at

Ninja Dodgeball.
Entertaining.
Being a Mom.
Public Speaking.
Creating.
Building a Campfire.
Sex.
Over analyzing Shakespeare, Middleton, and Tennessee Williams.
Planning in immense detail for things that may never happen (such as the Zombie Apocalypse)
Putting Humpty Dumpty back together again (and anyone else after they've had a bit of a fall)

The first things people usually notice about me

This really depends upon what venue they meet me in. Normally, it's my sense of humor. At least I hope it's my sense of humor. Or it could just be my breasts.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Hmmm. I was an English major, so narrowing down the favorite books is a toughie. Favorite author is easy, however. The correct answer is: Terry Pratchett. I also re-read "The Princess Bride" any time I need to be cheered up oram desperately sick to the point where my copy is tatterd and the cover is about to fall off.

My taste in movies and music is eclectic. My mixed tapes and cds make most of my friends tilt their heads in wonderment that some of these songs are on the same album. Though I highly suspect that I'm not the only person in the world who has a cd including Elvis, The Offspring, Garth Brooks, and Rob Zombie.

Favorite Movies:
The Princess Bride, Dawn of the Dead, The Hogfather, Gone with the Wind, Southpark: Bigger, longer & uncut, Secretary, Life is Beautiful, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Night of the Living Dead, Four Rooms, Harry Potter, Serenity, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Death to Smootchy, Very Bad Things, Sin City, Playing by Heart, and many more

Food:
Seafood. Indian. Traditional. Anything new and interesting. Food is best if it's a global adventure.

The six things I could never do without

1. My son. I know, everyone with a kid seems to say their kid. There is a reason for this. They sorta grow on you.
2. It is in your own best interest to NOT step between me and my morning coffee. I mean it. Back away from the mocha and don't make any sudden movements. Giving up caffeine for pregnancy is the hardest thing I've ever done and it. will. never. happen. again.
3. My friends and family. These people have my love, loyalty, trust, and way, way too much blackmail material on me.
4. I have known my cat longer than you. Don't argue with the cat. Don't compete with the cat. She'll win. She also doesn't hog the covers nor snore, and you very well may.
5. Books. Hey, I was an English major. I need books like a Hummer needs gas - in immense and inappropriate quantities.
6. My cabin. The cabin that my family owns is the very essence of peace and comfort to me. It's my happy place.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Lately it's practical matters (such as work and grocery shopping.) This disturbs me greatly, so I invite you to help me think about much more interesting things.

**Since writing the above paragraph I've started thinking about painting interspersed with more banal things. I've recently started experimenting in this new hobby, and while I'm far from what I would classify as "good" everything I see now I am mentally weaving into abstract colors for my own entertainment. I'm working on my fourth painting at present, and still trying to figure out how to fix a portion on my third that is driving me to distraction every time I look at the piece.

On a typical Friday night I am

If I'm really lucky, I'm in the car on the way to my cabin. But most Fridays I'm either totally crashing out with a book (ok- or mind numbing television *tries not to look guilty*) or engaging in some geeky activity with my friends. Really depends on how much energy the week has left me with.

As it happens, Saturdays and Sundays are where it's at. But this question is not concerned with Saturdays and Sundays. What a pity.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I mostly ended up on this site by getting sucked in by helloquizzy.com, which kinda snowballed (when I'm tired or ill I find spacing out and taking quizzes a relaxing pastime. It is one of those things one can do without thinking, like knitting.)

However, while I'm not avidly pursuing the dating scene- if someone truly intriguing comes along I might just be persuaded. (This does not mean "hit on me with one liner emails", mmmkay?)
