My self-summary
Let's play a game. One of the following statements is NOT true. Care to guess which one?

I have:
-Mushed a dogsled through Wyoming
-Partied hard with rock stars backstage while working as a radio personality
-Traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal and trekked to Mt. Everest base camp
-Been fired from a job for sending hamburgers through the drive-thru without meat
-Sang the Star Spangled Banner at a professional sporting event
-Taken cooking lessons in Greece
-Worked as an amusement park ride operator
-Performed CPR on a dog
-Won an amateur stand-up comedy contest at a comedy club
-Swam with sharks in the Blue Hole in Belize
-Followed the Grateful Dead for a summer cooking and selling grilled cheese sandwiches to make money for food, drink and lodging
-Drank orange juice directly from the carton
-Babysat Jerry Springer's daughter when she was a child
-Worn two completely different shoes (from different pairs) for two entire days on a business trip
-Been in a steam room with Aretha Franklin

All games aside, I'm the intelligent, confident, educated girl next door -- looking for a great guy to experience the best of what life has to offer. I've got a great big heart and am generous with my time, resources and feelings. I'm cultured and versatile but still love a good basketball game or hockey brawl. I can hold my own on a beer-and-a-shot trivia night at the local dive but also enjoy getting dressed up and seeing a live theater performance or taking in some culture.

I am looking for an emotionally available, confident guy who wants to be with someone who will forever make his life fun in amazing and unpredictable ways.
What I’m doing with my life
Being everything I wanted to be when I grew up. Paying it forward.
Creating kick-ass campaigns for clients I really care about. Giving back. Being a great role model for my teenage daughter. Building a legacy that others will admire. Learning to cook Brussels sprouts every way possible. Making a to-die-for key lime pie. Planning my escape route.
I’m really good at
Not spoiling the ending. Keeping everyone laughing. Crying at the most appropriate moments -- and laughing at the most inappropriate. Telling embarrassing stories about myself. Embarrassing my teenage daughter. Making mundane tasks into total adventures (e.g. grocery shopping). Pickling/fermenting things without killing others with botchulism. Cooking something amazing out of random ingredients I have on-hand. Communicating clearly. Not going to bed mad.
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually people notice my energy. I'm generally talking. Quickly. Animatedly. Passionately. And that I'm sort of a dork.

Then they notice that I look like their friend "Marcy" from undergrad or back home or from summer camp -- and then they realize that I'm not her.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
If I have to pick a favorite food, it's going to have to be movie theater popcorn. Not healthy, organic, air-popped, unbuttered popcorn, but actual doused in extra cholesterol and MSG and butter-flavored oil movie theater popcorn -- preferably at least 5 hours stale. Also, brisket is my spirit animal.

My favorite band, hands down, is the Talking Heads. I can't really explain why. They just are.

And then there are my favorite books, shows, movies, etc. I know it sounds trite, but I like a lot of same things everyone else does but I seem to be attracted to biographies, stories about adventure, historical fiction, modern humor and anything about high altitude mountaineering and snow sports.
The six things I could never do without
Big mountains covered in snow
Great stories
Tabasco
Thumbs
Coffee
Cold, wet noses -- attached to a dog, of course
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where are my glasses?
Where is my f-ing phone?
When will the skinny jean trend go away?
Does every single man in Austin play guitar?
Would I be cooler if *I* played the guitar?
Am I really out of dog food AGAIN?
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday nights are anything but typical. I spent this past Friday preparing for the pending Zombie Apocalypse.

Seriously, though, I'd like to be kicking back with a glass of wine or beer with my main man, but it's more likely I'd be perfecting a new recipe and forcing it on friends or just relaxing at home with a book or a good movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am obsessed with Mt. Everest and high altitude mountaineering disasters in the Himalayas. Although I am not a mountain climber, I indulge my obsession by reading and watching anything I can about Mt. Everest. As a result, I'm a font of useless mountaineering and geographical trivia.
