I am Authentic, Adventurous, and Introspective.
My Self-Summary
I find it hard to summarize myself, but I will give it a try... I
am a
computer and
design nerd (Love
Macs and hate PCs)
who tries to make computers easier for the rest of us to use. I
talk to strangers. I like eastern philosophies and meditation. My
hobbies include
massage and
energy work (e.g.
reiki). I believe that
adventure can be found
anywhere with the right mindset (even buying groceries). I love
meeting
creative people. I tend to be
shy on a first date, but I am definitely worth getting to
know.
I feel like I should also include something about who I am looking
to meet on here. I am looking for both
fun people to hang out with, and
someone to have a beautiful romance with. I am attracted to girls
with an inner strength and a deep respect for those around them. In
romance, I am looking for an equal. Someone who is there to support
me and my goals and someone who isn't too proud to ask for help
with theirs. I love nerdy girls because I can have a real
conversation with them... and the glasses are hot too ;-)
Physically, I have always been a sucker for the
Jewish nose... drives me wild for
some reason. I like a slender frame with enough weight that the
ribs don't show, but still with the inward curve at the waist...
love the inward curve.
What I’m doing with my life
I make computers and electronic devices easier to use. This is an
interesting field which involves psychology, industrial design, and
computer science. I also volunteer, tutoring children at the local
homeless shelter.
I’m really good at
A lot of things really. I like to solve math theorems and such (I
have a degree in mathematics). I am good with kids and teaching. I
am good at both programming and graphic design. I am a good
friend... I know how to listen, and I know what to say to help. I
am a good healer (both massage and reiki). I succeed at most things
I try.
One thing I am not so good at... learning russian. Every time I
learn a new word, it pushes an old one out of my brain. Apparently
there is only so much room in there...
The first things people usually notice about me
1)My Intelligence
2)My Sense of Humor
3)That I am awesome
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My all-time favorite music is
80's new wave. I like most other types of
music as well, with the exception of country (which ironically, is
what my best friend listens to non-stop). Right now I am listening
to Snow Patrol.
I mostly read non-fiction. That is not because I dislike fiction,
but because I can put non-fiction down. I will pick up a novel and
devour it. I will look at the clock and find it is suddenly 4 in
the morning. The last fiction book I read was Robert Jordan's
"Wheel of Time" series (book 7). I am just starting book 8. There
are several non-fiction books I am working my way through right
now. I am reading a book by Richard Feynman on the theory of
computation. I am also reading a book called "The Great
Transformation" about the history of world religions.
I like two types of movies: those that really make you think, and
those that let you turn your brain off for a while. Some of my
favorites are:
Serindipity,
Donnie Darko,
Three to Tango,
The Fountain,
Primer,
Pride &
Prejudice,
Sneakers, and
Ferris Bueller's Day
Off.
My favorite TV Show of all time is
Babylon 5. I love how all 5 seasons
were planned out ahead of time, so that seemingly unimportant
events happening in season 1 have a big effect by season 5. You
have to watch the whole series more than once to fully experience
this. I also love the classically russian influence on the
characters/story.
Wonderfalls is
a close second. Unfortunately, this series only had 13 episodes. If
you haven't seen it, then go buy it right now (I'll wait)... you
won't be disappointed. It was done by some of the same people who
did "
Firefly"
(another favorite) and "
Heroes".
The six things I could never do without
1)My Friends & Family
2)My Mac (with internet)
3)Nature
4)Sex
5)iTunes (Edit by Sasha: though that is on my Mac... so I'm
silly)
6)Tivo

I spend a lot of time thinking about
how awesome my friend Sasha is, who edited my profile...

On a typical Friday night I am
Having dinner (or doing something fun) with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
That I use ellipses (...) entirely too often...
Bonus Confession: I spell check instant messages before sending
them... which really makes them near-instant messages.
You should message me if
You live in the Bay Area, and are an interesting person. I am
always looking for people to share adventures with.
