My self-summary
Since I don't know what's important to any given man when it comes to initially learning about a woman, how about you start off with a couple questions? Everyone has his own opinion about what he truly wants to know at first. I can always come back and edit this later...
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a caretaker, chocolate-maker, and soon-to-be massage therapist. I was in the dental field for 20 years but decided to change things up a bit.
I’m really good at
1) being a good mom and friend to my two adult children. They both tell me I'm a "pretty cool mom" :)
2) being creative
3) listening
4) giving a great massage
5) trying to find the good in people
6) adapting well to most situations and people
7) being open and willing to learn new things, ideas, and activities from others
8) being compassionate towards animals.
The first things people usually notice about me
My mom says: my eyes, and my smile :)
My daughter says: my bubbly personality :)
A friend of mine says: I smile a lot :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I like these authors, but not exclusively: Frank and Malachy McCourt and Nora Roberts. I also get a kick out of listening to books narrated by the actual authors. However, Jim Dale is one of my favorite narrators of all time. He does the Harry Potter books, Peter and the Starcatchers, Around the World in 80 Days, and more.

Movies: The Secret of Roan Inish, a lot of Disney and Pixar movies, movies with an Irish theme, comedies, romantic comedies, dramas, documentaries, and sci-fi. I'm not into a lot of chick flicks, but will watch one on occasion. And sad movies make me cry! No thanks!

Shows: The Big Bang Theory, Men at Work, Breaking Bad, Family Guy, South Park, Kids In The Hall, Everybody Loves Raymond, House, Monk, Cake Boss, Cupcake Wars, King of Queens, Days of Our Lives, Sci-Fi, and many more.

Music: My tastes are EXTREMELY varied. I'll mention a few: Irish music of many kinds, Black Eyed Peas, Tool, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, Evanescence, Prince, a lot of 80s music, Oktoberfest-type music, The Cringe, Roto, some country, some trucking music, Weird Al, Seal, Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd, and a TON of Indie music. I enjoy going out to live music gigs, too.

Food: Pasta, seafood, sushi, smoked oysters, Cheerios, stews, Chinese, most vegetables, green and black olives, some Mexican food, and yes, even tofu. I like almond milk, coffee, tea, juice, water, some alcoholic beverages (but I'm NOT a frequent drinker).
The six things I could never do without
Aside from food, clothing and shelter,
1) the love of my family and friends and a special someone
2) my kitties
3) my iPhone for communication, picture-taking, and entertainment
4) flowers that are pretty and smell good, like lilacs and hyacinths
5) cards and games
6) books to read (or listen to, in the case of audio books)
7) my doctor who saved my life in 2008 (feel free to ask; I don't mind)
8) a good walk every day
9) human contact!!! I'm a social creature by nature. I wouldn't do well in solitary confinement! Seriously.
10) rules ;) (some of you will get this right away)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My children (both in their 20s), my parents, how to be a better person, and how to improve the world around me. Yeah, I know... a bit sappy, right? But still the truth.
On a typical Friday night I am
either developing new gourmet chocolate recipes or watching stuff on Netflix. I don't always need to go out to have fun, but sometimes I like to. A good, familiar, Irish pub is my venue of choice, but I'd consider going some other place if it were suggested by someone special.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am an extrovert. Also, I can write a book, all with one thumb, typing away on my phone, like I am doing at this very moment. Oh, you noticed? Hmm... not much of a secret, eh?

Ok, seriously, I have a couple of phobias. Can you guess what they might be? And, no, one is NOT anthropophobia. :)
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 35–45
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you find you are intrigued by my profile, if you sometimes like to have deep conversations (occasionally verging on the philosophical), if you are truly wanting a long term relationship when the time is right, if you don't live very far from me, if you like to have daily communication, and if you like cats. :)
