My self-summary
Update 4/2/14: I'm 10 days away from completing a 100 day clean eating, no alcohol challenge, and I'm happy to say I've lost over 60lbs doing so. I put myself off of checking out this site all that often, but now I'm feeling more comfortable getting back into things and seeing what's out there in the dating world. I like this version of me better, and I know someone else out there will too!

Aside from a short stint on the east coast, I've lived in this great state of Colorado all my life. I absolutely love it. Grew up in Evergreen, went to school in Gunnison and now live in the Denver area. I am, in fact, one of those rare white elks that seem to be less and less frequent: a Native! Like many natives, I do enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping, fishing and the occasional scenic drive. I must say, I'm not a big skier or snowboarder. Winter is still my favorite season after spring, so go figure.

Right now, I'm between full time work. After years of trying to get into the education field, I've decided to try something else for full time employment.

At present, I work part time as a driver for Lyft and I have a couple days a week at Barnes and Noble. I'm also a theatrical type during the evenings. Directing, acting, sound design work and a little bit of everything else. It's a passion of mine and I'm working to try and make it a career as well, but it's challenge.

Here's a couple random tidbits about me...

-I've tasted and logged over 70 different brands of root beer.
-I absolutely adore science fiction, and have a strong weakness for anything related to Star Wars. Yes, even the prequels. They have their place!
-I once met one of my heroes, Bruce Springsteen. And he took care of my bar tab. One of my favorite stories!
-Self proclaimed expert at the Six Degrees game for actors. My favorite connection I've ever done was Ali G to Laurence Olivier.
-I make pretty kick-ass sweet potato fries.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning, growing, advancing and remembering to just keep swimming... just keep swimming...

Looking for full time work while balancing my theater interests and my other hobbies, while looking for new things to fulfill me. I recently took up painting, and I'm looking to start some guitar lessons soon!

I'm considering moving into a career as a life coach, but I'm still working that out and seeing what all will entail with it.
I’m really good at
Talking like Christopher Walken.

Making people laugh.

Staying very dude-like in most any situation. "This aggression will not stand, man."
The first things people usually notice about me
That I could be a double for Seth Rogen. And I've been told my eyes are very very bright blue.

Food- I'll try most anything once. Pizza used to be my go to food, but now something more aligned with the paleo lifestyle. So steak is always a delicious option. I'm not terribly picky! Mussels from Le Central have got to be one of my all time favorite things to eat.
The six things I could never do without
1. Theater. Either being on stage acting or behind the scenes, or seeing something. Movies are great too, but the live interaction that actors get with the audiences is something I crave.
2. My phone. I'm not a frequent texter, but it's nice to have everything in one. Plus it's awesome being able to settle a bet right away. "Yes, Dan Aykroyd WAS in an Indiana Jones movie. Oh, you don't believe me?!" Also, all of my music is on my phone, so... it's handy to have.
3. A sense of humor. Laughing at life is how I get through rough patches. Being able to have fun with it and not take it all too seriously helps keeps my blood pressure down.
4. My glasses and contacts. Otherwise I'd have a Buster Bluth moment and mistake someone for a pointy, blurry mass.
5. My gratitude stone. Curious on how you can get one yourself? Inquire within! It's super awesome :)
6. Passion. Not in the heels to heaven sort of way, but being around people who are passionate about something in their life, whatever that might be.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The art of storytelling. What makes a compelling story? How can it be told effectively? What's a good way to raise tension or suspense in a scene?

Also, which Lego set I should put together next. Well, that's a lie. Which Lego set I should obtain, and THEN put together next.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not at the theater, it can vary At home catching something on Netflix could be appealing, but so could taking a slug of quarters to the 1Up and trying to beat the high score of Joust. Or maybe at Dazzle for some good music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still play with Legos. And I always will.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You think an ideal first date would be taking a walk around a museum or the zoo, followed by a drink and some good conversation. Or if you'd like to know more, or would like a cheesy joke, or maybe if you'd like to give me two actors to connect in six degrees. I promise I won't cheat!
