Your Notes
Edit your notesI am sharp, literate, and self-reflexive.
My Self-Summary
Right now, I am trying to figure out how to not think like a student. I have a large backlog of things I used to be. In roughly reverse chronological order, they are: putting computers on turtles professionally, in a dead end job, archeologist, terrible short fiction writer, computer programmer, musician, a totally socially incompotent dork, a seven year old kid who really liked nintendo and legos.
My humor runs in two decidedly different strains: cynical/self-deprecating, and loud/absurdist. Every so often, they overlap, which is honestly pretty great, if you ask me for my totally not-biased-at-all opinion.
I can get really excited about new cookware.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a job at a place that manages the power grid in the northeast. I do a bunch of future planning kind of stuff there, so that when people start building new, say, wind turbines in New York, they'll be able to get that power to Boston.
Really, it's kind of inscrutable. They're paying for a masters, though. Can't beat that.
I am trying very hard not to become stagnant. I'm not exactly sure of the best way to do this, because I do not possess powers of omniscience. Right now I'm taking small steps, like trying to teach myself to play bass guitar, because, you know, why not, and maybe one day I can be in a band that hipsters ironically like.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Umberto Ecco, Haruki Murakami, and Neil Stephenson are my stock favorite authors. Respectivley, this is a result of writing historical fiction, magical realism, and epic novels about Issac Netwon.
Movies:
Ok, I have a soft spot for Casablanca. Really. I'm the only person born after 1980 who loves film noir, I swear.
Music:
Some jazz, some post-1900s classical, and a bunch of music that probably stopped being cool six months before I found out about it.
Hey wouldn't it be fun if i started changing this bit every once in awhile with some band I'm listening to? Yes, I think it would:

SUMMER JAM 09 Electrik Red is super well produced! All of their songs are ridiculosly catchy.
Foods:
Anything that is vegetarian and spicy will do, thanks.
