Hey, everyone. I'm Storm (real name... it's a family thing). シ

I'm one of those types of people who usually gets along well with everybody, though I'm prone to be horrendously shy when I first meet someone. But once I'm able to shed my apprehension, I tend to become very outgoing and sociable. I love intellectual conversation and deep workings of the mind, but I also enjoy the vernacular exchange of quips and colloquial nonsense.

I'm a nature person and love to go hiking. But I also enjoy doing things in the city. I'm a big concert-goer and I love to try new things. But I'm not demanding when it comes to being entertained; I'm often content with simply sitting around and talking.

The musical side of me:
Very musically oriented, yet lacking the voice and vocal control of the singer I was born to be and not yet having the finger speed, dexterity, and prowess of a proficient guitarist, I'm left singing loudly to the music I have blasting around me, sending ear-shattering mockeries of sound to everyone unfortunate enough to be within shouting distance (I'm only a quarter serious). :P
I'm hoping to pick the guitar back up (I sorta played at one point) and I'd like to be able to start producing something that can be considered a "good sound."

At the moment, I'm learning martial arts and have been doing so for four years. It's really quite fun and I've found so many benefits from doing so (e.g. increased confidence, better posture, kick-assitude, etc.).

I'm pretty religious, though I don't practice quite as much as I'd like to. I try to closely follow Jesus' path and stay close to God. I'm best friends with plenty of athiests and I won't try to convert those who aren't Christians (I'm respectful to pretty much everyone's beliefs or lack of). ツ

It's difficult to condense myself into a bearable-to-read description, so I'm stopping my summary here. I'm too complex!

I'm currently in college, focusing on Japanese and creative writing. What I'm hoping to do, planning for, and working towards is teaching and/or translating in Japan or for a Japanese company while writing stories. I'd like to take up photography as a side-career and paleontology as a hobby.

If I end up teaching, I'll probably be teaching Japanese speakers English. That's what I'm hoping for, but it's not yet determined (I may end up focusing on something else...).

I'm also hoping to become an illustrator for some of my literary works. I'm independantly working on drawing (I really should take a class...) and I have pretty large dreams in producing a story I've been zealously working on for several years.

Of course, there's also that dream I have of becoming a hard-core song writer and musician. It's in my blood and calling to me... :P

Would it be my long hair? That's what it seems to be, but it's really not for me to say.

Books: Mostly Stephen King and Anne Rice, but I enjoy books like Memoirs of a Geisha and those about the mind and how things work. I'm an avid learner and I'll read a broad range of material (maybe excluding shmoopy romances and preteen girl books -,-).
Although I almost never do anymore, I like to read manga (in so many ways I'm still a kid xP ).

I like Asian movies a lot, both action/adventurer and horror. I love Lord of the Rings (I'm working on becoming a certified nerd), Fight Club, Shawn of the Dead, Spirited Away (one of my favorites), Shutter (Thai horror), Noroi, and so many others.

I listen to mostly rock. I like classical, jazz, opera, and a lot of other genres, too. I'm not a fan of country and I don't really like rap.
I listen to a lot of mainstream rock, such as KoRn, Collective Soul, Bush, Incubus, Alice Cooper, Deftones, The Beatles, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, and waaaaaaay too many more to list.

Food: Mudkips.

other than the obvious:
music, imagination, being able to write, nature, books, and being able to run (I love to run and move fast!).

How to improve things (especially myself) and how to more efficiently use my mind and channel my creativity. I form a lot of stories in my head (tons and tons!) and I'm a major daydreamer. I find myself thinking too much sometimes, to be honest.
I think about people, religion, what I should do next, what I shouldn't have just done (and how to prevent bad things from happening again), etc.

I'm curious and interested in so many different things that it's difficult to choose what to enumerate here. Bah!

at my friend's house: playing video games, watching a movie, trying to get my immutable friends to do some outdoor activity, and/or sitting around talking about sophisticated stuff (e.g. the best course of action in case of a zombie infestation).
