i've been in dc for 4 years, and i absolutely love it here. prior to dc, i lived in boston, went to college in upstate ny, studied abroad in amsterdam, and i grew up in a sleepy town on the ct shoreline.

things i love: long weekends, the beach, my parents, my friends, pop culture, sports, internet memes, brunch, yoga, amsterdam, boston, nachos, living on capitol hill, progressive politics, good beer,whiskey cocktails, cheese, traveling, reading, wait wait don't tell me, reading grantland, jezebel, gawker, etc.

i'm lucky to do work i believe in and am passionate about. other than that, just trying to be happy, successful, and a good person.

generally i tend to get complimented on my eyes and smile.

sometimes i get asked if my eyelashes are fake.

instead of a laundry list for each, here are the highlights --

currently reading: bossypants (tina fey) & songs of the doomed (hunter s thompson); recently read the harry potter series for the first time. favorite genres: political fiction, historical fiction, feminist lit; occasionally pop lit & non fiction.

i don't have netflix, and sometimes i'm worried i'll be judged when i die by what is on my dvr. this keeps me from recording some (but not all) reality tv. current fav shows: parks & recs, happy endings, community, new girl, downton, parenthood, scandal, veep.

i go through phases where i watch a bunch of movies (oscars season, for example) and others where i don't watch any. i really enjoy outdoor movies. what better excuse for swilling white wine out of a plastic cup and eating cheese & fruit for dinner?

everything, but christian rock. recently saw mumford & sons. seeing the lumineers & postal service this summer. lots of good shows at merriweather & wolf trap so hoping to add a few more to the calendar.

i've been a vegetarian for over 10 years. other people seem to think it is a big deal, but i try to be pretty breezy about it...

that's a clown question, bro. i guess traveling, politics (mainly of the progressive variety), work, how i define happiness/success, what's next...

blah, blah, no such thing as typical... either a lazy night at home/in the 'hood, a movie, nats game, happy hour/dinner, or headed out of town. if i get back to the hill, you're hard pressed to get me back out to nw.

i have never owned any apple products.
