My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was born in Nebraska and raised in Iowa, which means that I still call soda "pop." I'll never stop calling it pop. Don't try to change me, baby. I grew up playing the drums, acting on stage, and making crappy movies with my friends. The last one stuck, which is why I eventually moved out to Los Angeles.

I've been in LA for over five years, and I enjoy it very much. I came out to work in film, but I've been stolen by the TV business, which is pretty cool too. I've worked for game shows, pilots, entertainment news, and scripted comedies, all of which, despite the stress and b.s., have been rewarding experiences.

I recently won an award at Shriekfest LA for a script I wrote, which was awesome, and I'm currently playing drums in a band - we played a nineties set and a sock-hop at the Voodoo Lounge in the House of Blues. It was a blast.

I'd say what I'm looking for in a girl, but how many cliches are you gonna have to suffer through for that? These profiles get really familiar. Take a drink every time someone says "explore LA together." Finish the glass if they ironically mention "long walks on the beach."

How about this - I'm keeping my eyes open for a fellow nerd who's attractive and funny.

Oh, and I'm not really into sports at all. Fair warning.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on scripts, writing on a blog, playing drums, cooking, finding new places to hike that aren't too far away from the Valley. All that and watching TV on Netflix Instant, which is like crack except more addictive.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
answering questions about my skills.

is my height, followed by my sense of humor, followed by my kindness, followed by my sense of rhythm.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Some of my favorite books are Slaughterhouse Five, The Razor's Edge, The Stand, Lord of the Flies...I recently read The Stars My Destination. I skew more toward fiction.

Some of my favorite movies are Dawn of the Dead (the original), Goodfellas, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, pretty much every Hitchcock film. There's this British flick called A Matter of Life and Death - it's amazing.

Shows...Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Saturday Night Live, Arrested Development, The Wire, The X-Files. Breaking Bad. Louie. Mad Men. I've kinda soured on Lost.

Musicians I like. Nine Inch Nails, The Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, The Who and Pink Floyd. Sam Cooke. Awolnation is a new one. Julie London. Springsteen.

As for main courses, it's an eternal tie between a bunch of Chinese dishes and lasagna. Regardless, hot apple pie with ice cream melting on top trumps both. I've recently learned how to bake apple pie, and it has become a gift and a curse, because now friends always want me to make pie for them. Is that all I am now?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, friends, art/culture, writing, hiking, and those Trader Joe mini-packs of raw almonds. Those little dudes are awesome.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
God, the universe, and everything else.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
working late or having a beer or two at the pub or chilling at home with a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I think Agent Dana Scully from "The X-Files" is my hero. No joke.
