My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
31 year old Boston native living in NYC for 11 years now. I have a pretty good grasp on who I am as a person; loyal to a fault, highly empathetic, sweet, silly, intelligent, passionate and direct. I love to laugh, meet new people and enjoy everything the city has to offer. I'm looking for people who have similar qualities but can still teach me a thing or two. Is that you?

Some things I like to do: sit next to strangers in a bar or coffee shop and just start talking to them like we're old friends; write encouraging graffiti messages in ladies' bathroom stalls; people watch in parks; visit museums; smile at babies on the train to try and make them laugh; smoke the occasional cigar; explore parts of the city I haven't been to yet; keep up to date on what's happening in the world; drink wine and pretend I'm a sommelier.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at NYU Medical Center in the cardiology department, which means I'm terrific at mending broken hearts :-)

I try to hit the gym a few times a week to stay active and if you can get me to learn to like running outside I would be eternally grateful.

I enjoy cooking; it's extremely satisfying to make a good meal for someone and watch them enjoy it.

I always have a book with me, usually it's just fluff but I like getting lost inside stories, it's instant stress relief for me to delve into a book.

I am also looking to volunteer or join a book club or SOMETHING I can join so I can meet more people and make new friends. It gets lonely here in the Big Apple!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Figuring people out quickly and with pretty amazing accuracy.

Organizing other people's stuff.

Adapting as the situation calls for it.

Returning texts and emails.

Trying new things and not being judgey.

Various forms of intimacy.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve.

Making a solid well balanced meal in 20 minutes or less

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read anything and everything I can get my hands on, so I don't really have a favorite book. I also like to keep up with the news and current events, so I read newspapers (NY Times, Huffington Post), and magazines too. I have a Kindle Fire and it is the best thing EVER.

My favorite types of films are comedy, action or drama. Some of my recent favorites: Children of Men, Cabin in the Woods, Gravity, 300, X-Men, 21 Jump Street, Superbad, Wanted, The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, The Departed, Braveheart, Goodfellas, Scarface, The Hangover (but only the first one), Harry Potter (Yes, I AM one of THOSE people). I am also pretty into watching documentaries on a variety of subjects.

Shows I dig: Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Leftovers, Louie, The Daily Show, The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Supernatural, Grays Anatomy, True Detective, Breaking Bad, The New Girl. Plus, I like football, hockey, soccer and boxing, so I will totally watch ESPN with you.

I like any and all forms of music, being that I graduated from a music conservatory. Stuff on my iPod: The Lumineers, Ellie Goulding, Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine, The Black Keys, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ra Ra Riot, Grouplove, The Kicks, The Naked and Famous, Miike Snow, Of Monsters and Men, Passion Pit, Young the Giant, Imagine Dragons, Youngblood Hawke, Bastille, Broods, Capital Cities, Lorde, Walk the Moon, Two Door Cinema Club, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Killers.

Oh, and I love Japanese, Mexican, Thai, and Indian food; I'm not a picky eater. The most satisfying thing in the world to eat is a rib eye cooked to perfection.

Bonus! Favorite quote: "The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be." -Socrates
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My iPhone (ugh, that just happened.)
A well made Manhattan
Comfortable shoes
Music and Art
Human Interaction

Now six things I can absolutely do without:

Bad Teeth and/or Dirty Fingernails
Lateness; I make an effort to respect your time and I expect the same courtesy
Being squished like a sardine on the 6 train
America's obsession with celebrity
Bars so crowded that you can't hear your date!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The arcane and the mundane, I'm a grab bag of questions and useless information, like:

What to have for dinner.

The psychology and over all mind fuck-i-ness of dating and how sometimes I just really want a boyfriend and other times I just want a F-buddy and other times I just want a friend who likes to go to museums and why that's confusing/weird/normal...

The future.

Do people actually read my profile?

Why do people use Quickmatch like Tinder, i.e., you like the photo but never bother to send a message! It's weird and why?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends, drinking, eating, carousing and making a general mess of things. If you're looking for someone to hang out with on Friday night, feel free to hit me up! I guarantee you will laugh and I will probably spill something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I was once a married lady. And now I'm not.
