I'm from the DC area and moved to Seattle 6 years ago. I love the natural beauty of Washington and I don't think I could ever move back. I consider myself a life-long student and if I had all the money in the world, I would travel and take a bunch of college classes in all subject areas but especially those I didn't really take the first time around, like biology, physics, mathematics and chemistry in addition to some more languages. At a party of friends, I'm usually the girl with a big smile, laughing at witty jokes and joining in on the joke-cracking. I'm also usually the one who has brought the killer homemade dessert. For fun, I really enjoy being with my friends whether it's catching dinner together at a new restaurant, getting a good beer, drinking coffee & going for a walk, or just watching either a really great movie or a really terrible one we can all ridicule. I'm a little shy in a crowd of strangers but with a small group of people, I'm really comfortable chatting and getting to know people.

I work at a major ecommerce company and I really enjoy my work. When I'm not working, I'm usually exercising or hanging out with friends. In the summer, I like to hike and camp. I just started a Chinese class at BCC since I don't know a lick of Chinese.

I love to run and write, though I haven't made much time for writing recently. In the past I've done my fair share of half-marathons, 10ks and 5k races and I always get a rush out of beating a PR. I'm into cooking and have gotten very into baking really interesting desserts and bread. Nothing is more satisfying than kneading some dough and then biting into your first slice of hot, fresh bread, especially on a snow day!

People always compliment my hair and frequently ask about my ethnicity because they never seem to able to determine my racial background. My dad is from India and my mom is from Peru (an interesting story I'll tell if we ever meet!).

I'm not really that into any type of music in particular but I really enjoy NPR, especially on Saturday mornings. I like alternative rock from the 90s and some current pop and rock. Oldies always make me feel happy too.

I like all kinds of food, especially Italian, Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine. I love trying out new restaurants in Seattle, whether they're fancy or cheap eats.

Currently I'm spending a lot of time thinking about hiking this summer, traveling and furnishing my new apartment. In a wider more philosophical sense, I think a lot about the way people take in information and organize it mentally to make sense and how they find information when they want it. I'm also trying to figure out how to live in the moment a little more and worry about the future a little less.

On Friday nights, I'm usually out with friends at a pub or hanging out at a friend's house watching a bad movie or playing board games (or both!) and sometimes I'm just trying to recuperate and sleep.

I love to turn up the radio and sing at the top of my lungs when I'm driving alone. I think I've caught other people staring at me from their cars at intersections...
