I am intelligent, musical, and athletic.
My Self-Summary
I am
LDS,
sing very well (classical),
play
Ultimate
competitively, have unusual and eclectic tastes in music, and I may
think too much.
I am the 5th of 8 children (woot!).
I am not terribly extroverted, to say the least, so it frequently
takes a while to get to know me. Of course, being a person, I'm not
surprised.
I have plenty of crazy ideas, some of which I actually try. To
clarify, I have lots of ideas that many people do not think of, do
not admit to thinking of, or simply do not think worthy of
mentioning. When I think that such a thing might actually be
doable/fun/interesting, odds are decent that I'll give it a
shot.
You can ask, but I'm fairly sure you'd notice some if you were
around me much - oh, yes, most definitely (at least
eventually).
Once, my younger sister said something interesting about me: I was
wearing a pair of white corduroy pants (which were quite
comfortable), when something caught her eye, and she started
laughing; one of the back pocket flaps was up. Against the plain
corduroy was a plaid candy-colored patch.
In her mind, the pants matched me perfectly - apparently ordinary
on the outside, but surprising/crazy on the inside - or something
like that.
=========================
I admit, the main reason I have an account here is because I saw
something on
slashdot mentioning something about the
underlying algorithms on the site that piqued my interest.
My whimsical name is a direct result of this.
What I’m doing with my life
Half-time student at BYU (dual
Computer Science and
Music major), full-time
developer.
I’m really good at
Singing, Computers, Analysis, Optimization, Reading
Massages (so I hear - mostly from family), Cooking things I like (I
rarely use recipes, and generally throw things together. I've done
it enough that I usually have a decent idea of what might
work)
I play games somewhat infrequently, but I am good at them - Card
Games, Board Games, (I'm only decent at computer games - and I am
really bad at consoles - I spend enough time at work on computers,
I don't feel the need to play many computer games - though I
occasionally play some dos games :))
The first things people usually notice about me
My speech (not that I make a speech when I speak, I simply have a
fairly unique accent) and my mannerisms
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Back in grade school, I read a /lot/, mostly science fiction
and fantasy. In 9th grade I read over 23000 pages in a month.
However, now I probably read less than a novel a month, though I do
read a lot of technical content.
I have an account on librarything, which is very incomplete, but
does have more detail.
Movies: the original Star Wars must be mentioned
Music: eclectic taste, most of what I listen to is logged to
last.fm
Food: I will eat almost anything put in front of me. I particularly
like good food, however. Well-prepared steaks, korean food, chinese
food, italian, are some favorite types.
The six things I could never do without
1. Religion
2. Music
3. French Toast
4. The Internet
56....to be continued?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about a lot of things; much of the time I'm not even sure
what.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, programming (open source/personal projects), traveling, or
playing
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
How private is something that is publicly revealed?
You should message me if
You want me to expand my profile in a specific way?
You want to have an engaging conversation?
You want to know anything?
You want to?
You noticed the roughly exponential curve above, but don't think
too much of it?
Incidentally, I'm not quite sure how serious I am about the top
section, but the latter definitely applies - though, as I said,
don't think too much of it?
