My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Information sponge. Jack of all trades. Deadpan snarker. Geek.

Years ago I was a runner. Trying to become one again, and the hills are killing me but I'd like to attempt a marathon next year.

I love a well-told story in any format - books, movies, TV, anything. Sometimes this makes it hard to keep my to-read list under control.

Not too sure about online dating, but we'll see how it goes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working in a library and trying to figure out the next challenge, now that I have a job I like.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Deflecting compliments.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
So many books.... I mean, I work in a library. Anything by Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher, Charles Stross, Stina Leicht, N.K. Jemisin, Terry Pratchett, Neal Stephenson, Seanan McGuire... pretty much anything fantasy or sci-fi I can sink my teeth into.

Movies: Ink, Usual Suspects, Brick, Brothers Bloom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Love Actually, When Harry Met Sally, The Empire Strikes Back.

Music: showtunes (especially Sondheim), movie soundtracks.
I tend to listen to podcasts more than music - some favorites are
Thrilling Adventure Hour, NPR Pop Culture Happy Hour (I just started listening), Savage Lovecast, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History, Planet Money, Harmontown, Freakonomics, Radiolab, You Are Not So Smart, Welcome to Night Vale, and several short fiction podcasts (like Clarkesworld, Drabblecast, and PodCastle).

TV: Community, Yowamushi Pedal, Spaced, Orphan Black, Cosmos, Cowboy Bebop, Baccano!, Supernatural, IT Crowd, Darker than BLACK, Battlestar Galactica, West Wing, seasons 1-6 of Scrubs. Doctor Who sans Moffat.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books
Friends
Alone time
The Internet
Running
A comfortable bed
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why people act the way they do - social pressures, conscious & unconscious reasons, economics.

Wondering whether the world's problems can be fixed or if we're already past the tipping point.

Wondering why some people have their own answer as an unacceptable response in the questions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading, watching a movie, or hanging out with friends.
