🎨📝🚀 The only graphic designer in Bushwick, the only unpublished writer in Brooklyn, the only unfunny comic in New York. Recently I finished the fourth preface in my novel, began a comic for the Sketchbook Project, and ordered a homebrewing kit. I spend too much time in coffee shops and don't go to enough shows. Improv nerd, paperback collector, avocado devourer. My weakness is girls who have tattoos, drink chai, and advocate for the Oxford comma.
What I’m doing with my life
I've finally figured out what to do with my hair after 28 years.
I’m really good at
Opening wine without a corkscrew.
Almost winning trivia night.
The first things people usually notice about me
The eyelashes, if every first impression I've ever had is anything to go by.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Trashy old adventure novels and pulp detective stories are my jam. I'll pick up a dozen books from the Strand dollar stacks to find one hidden gem. Love local indie comics. Vonnegut is heavily featured on my bookshelf and I eagerly anticipate every new edition of Weird NJ.
Back to the Future, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Blade Runner come with me to a desert island. Recent nights-in include John Carpenter, John Cusack, and John Waters. I started watching horror movies last year and I can't stop.
Broad City, Mad Men, Louie, Peep Show, Venture Bros., Danger 5, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and Drunk History. Freaks and Geeks and X-Files for the all-time top.
Anti-folk, jet set pop, Japanese surf rock, and aggressively-positive lo-fi bedroom pop. Hit-or-miss open mics. I'm often found at Palisades, Silent Barn, and Secret Project Robot. Obsessed with podcasts.
I love cooking, and my brunch game is strong. You can ask me the secret to my crepes, but I'm taking it with me to the grave. A good London Fog can be the best thing about my week. Straight bourbon's my drink; it gets me in just enough trouble.
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If you have a dog it increases my chance of wanting to date you 20%. What can I say, I'm shallow.
I more often use good OKC profiles to get new music suggestions.
You should message me if
You've got a great sense of humor.
You don't take yourself too seriously.
