People also often notice and comment on my good nature (others have called it my positive energy). Finally, it's humblebrag time... I not infrequently catch people looking at my butt. I coach people how to squat and deadlift, though. A round behind comes with the territory.
But whatevs. This is OK Cupid, not a deposition. Bookwise, I went through a period of readinga lot of mysteries and police procedurals. There. I said it. However, I really only read ones that are set in Los Angeles, classics by Raymond Chandler and Ross MacDonald and contemporary works by Michael Connolly and Robert Crais. Another, related literary interest is in the culture and history of California, and I casually collect antiquarian books on that subject (Date Me!). I'm branching out a bit more now.
Movies. I don't go to the movies often, probably because I don't like sitting still and I can't stand being inside on a nice day. I feel like I'm indoors enough as it is, I'd rather be outside if it's an option. Anyhow, I love a moronic comedy (of the Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Anchor Man genre) and thrillers, especially espionage types like the Bourne and 007 franchises. Love those. Loved Argo.
I doubt I have the TV on much longer than 2 hours a day, and half of that is watching the news. However, I am totally into Homeland. TOTALLY. And I'm shocked at how much I got into Downton Abbey - I generally would rather be trapped under something heavy than watch Masterpiece Theater. Because I'm awesome, I watch the Bachelor/ette franchise with a group of friends-- it is a lot of fun. We have a Bachelor fantasy league that is puh-retty great. Finally, I'm not trying to act like I'm not way too into HGTV. who doesn't love the big reveal?!
Music. I am not a music geek, and I probably am less committed to opinions about music than the average person. That said, I enjoy many genres. My itunes features dance, alternative, pop, rock, classical, and classic country.
I love eating and cooking. I eat a somewhat Paleo diet, focused on meat and vegetables, and eat very little sugar, dairy, and grains. Major exception: ice cream. Improbably, I am a terrific baker, though I don't eat much of what I bake since I've gone gluten-free. I bake cream scones that people plan their travel around. I live for Peet's Coffee (if you've never heard of it and you love coffee, you're welcome). Mexican street tacos are my weakness. If you become my bf and we go to Santa Barbara together, we shall feast at Tacqueria El Bajio on Milpas, and it will be glorious. Then we'll get coffee.
Peet's French Roast coffee.
Late afternoon sunlight in California.
A pencil and something to draw on.
Friends who can make me laugh.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something really clutch, so I'll leave #6 blank for now. (Is it well-cut shirts? I could probably live without those, but I wouldn't look as dashing.)
