My self-summary
I’m an outgoing introvert with a tendency to spend too much time in my own head. I’m happiest when I can spend time with friends, board games, and soccer. I spent a couple years in Pennsylvania, and learned that the green and blue of the Northwest can’t be beat. While I enjoy going out from time to time, I tend to wind up with plans consisting of “stuff and things” at someone’s place; it usually winds up with board games or just chatting, with occasional bouts of badminton or frisbee when the weather’s nice.

I love watching and listening to rain. The heavier it is, the more I love it.
What I’m doing with my life
Preparing to enter Pharmacy School at UW in the fall, volunteering with a Special Olympics soccer team, and using board games and soccer to stay sane (it's a combination that works quite well, I've found).
I’m really good at
Making time to do things I enjoy, while not letting the important things slip (often). Also, remembering bizarre and random facts that no one ever really needs to know (molecular weight of atomic chlorine, anyone?).
The first things people usually notice about me
When I'm passionate about things, I tend to be knowledgeable, loud, and intense (sometimes overly so). In general, I'm friendly, like to laugh, and can be a bit competitive. I'm quick to forgive, quicker to offer help, slow to forget, and slower to anger.

I was also told recently that I get a Stewie (Family Guy) lilt to my voice when I'm upset about something. So apparently there's that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Game of Thrones, Discworld, Catch 22. Fantasy tends to be my go-to genre, but I also enjoy reading about philosophy and religion.

Music: Thriving Ivory, Fitz and the Tantrums, Eve 6, Local Strangers, Indigo Swing, Parov Stellar, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5.

TV: Doctor Who, NCIS, Game of Thrones, Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, Firefly, Daily Show.

Movies: Princess Bride, Fight Club, Pitch Black, Monty Python, Stardust, all the Pixar films, V for Vendetta.
The six things I could never do without
Soccer
Board games
Books
A good beer
Science
Friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Plans for the next few years (things like housing and paying for pharmacy school), and how to get back into old hobbies (swing dancing, racquetball, biking) or turn some random outings I enjoy into new hobbies (rock climbing, paddleboarding).

If I manage to get out of the more practical/hypothetical, I like to think about science and philosophy. It rarely leads to any profound thoughts, but I'm going to pretend that's more to do with it being a one-sided discussion than anything else. At least I'm only deluding myself with that one, right?
On a typical Friday night I am
Fridays are often board games. The rest of my weekend is largely planned on the fly, except for morning soccer and Special Olympics coaching on Sunday afternoon.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I thought I was Randy Johnson when I was 5. "But he's a lot taller than you are..." "Yeah, but from a distance you can't tell!" 5 year old me wasn't going to let logic get in my way!

Very little I'm actually embarrassed or uncomfortable sharing, but plenty I don't offer without being asked.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 24–29
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You enjoy exploring board games, being on the water, or watching and playing soccer. If you like all 3, so much the better (I'd say hopefully not all at once, but I'd also be interested in exploring how miserably that fails).

The only deal-breaker I have is smoking, and it's not a negotiable issue. I have asthma, and cigarette smoke is about the only thing that can (and does) routinely set that off, so I go out of my way to avoid it.
