My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Humble, creative, passionate, fun-loving, hard working, adventurous, affectionate, athletic, liberal-minded, soft spoken, romantic, imperfect.

My idea of a successful life is expressed eloquently in a poem by Betsy Stanley, 1905
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

I'm most proud of raising my two children; my daughter and son, to be loving people and conscientious, active citizens, who both are making the world a better place.

I have already succeeded. Whatever else I accomplish during this new chapter of my life will be icing on the cake. Now that my kids have both left the nest, the possibilities for my continued success and further growth are endless. I'd love to meet someone who has similar interests to mine and has the same values and beliefs; someone who when given the chance to sit it out or dance, will always dance.

I'm looking for someone to share my life with; someone I can be myself around; someone who works as hard as I do to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit; someone who feels as comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans as she does dressed to the nines; someone who likes to hold and likes to be held; someone who loves being active, social, adventurous, faithful, and fun. If we are meant to be together, it will be effortless to find comfort and joy sharing the mundane experiences of everyday life as well as the most memorable special events.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Exploring all possibilities. Now that I'm an empty nester the sky is the limit. I like to spend time in the great outdoors whenever I can, staying in touch with my family, learning to read music and sing, volunteering, and planning my next vacation or mission trip.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, listening, making conversation and other things, table tennis, spending inordinate amounts of time on what appears to others to be useless activities, but that are very therapeutic to me, devotion, coping with imperfection.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My cavernous and well-cultivated laugh lines, my blue eyes, my charming sense of humor, and my penchant for making fun.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I read all day on the computer. I've always been very active, so I haven't done much reading except to keep up with current events. By the time I crack the spine, I'm usually asleep, but I don't suppose I'd mind being read to by someone I'm interested in.

Movies. . . there's so many. Here's a few: The Princess Bride, Little Miss Sunshine, Straw Dogs, Sophie's Choice, Crash, Star Wars, A Man Called Horse, Silverado, Deliverance, Lord of the Rings, any swashbuckling flic, Enchanted, Toy Story, Shrek, Cry Wolf, and the list goes on.

I love Broadway shows and the performing arts. At one point in my life I had aspirations of becoming involved in theater as a set designer/builder.

I like a lot of different music: Show tunes, especially the love songs, jazz, Motown, R&B, soul, contemporary. Some country and a lot less rap or heavy metal.

I try to eat a balanced diet incorporating the five basic food groups plus anything smothered in dark chocolate; crunchy peanut butter and egg and olive sandwiches, not together of course. I have eaten an apple almost every day of my adult life. Granny Smith is my favorite variety.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

My senses
My spiritual, mental, and physical health (Is that 1 or 3 things?)
Dark Chocolate (It must have been 1)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How proud of my kids I am and green eggs and ham. Inane things and the stream of consciousness that gets me there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am home relaxing. When I have a partner, who knows what activities I might undertake.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no will power with an open bag of cheese doodles in front of me. If it hasn't been opened yet, I have a smidge more will power.
