I am the eggman, the walrus, and a secret agent man.
My Self-Summary
Hi! Please call me Seth.
I drive a minivan, but it's great, because I fill it up when I go
camping on the
beach or
backpacking in the desert. I write
poetry and
short
stories, but don't worry: I won't make you read any of it. I
love to
swing
dance and I want to learn other kinds of dance. Oh, and my
initials are SOH and I was born on
April Fool's Day. There are
six other interesting things and 43 boring things about me that I
won't say here.
And if that ain't enough, do your own legwork, you creepy internet
stalker. If I haven't given you enough info to work with, you're a
terrible stalker.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for The Man (state government) doing boring things involving
the interwebs and computers, carefully biding my time until all
these babyboomers retire and I can accomplish my real goal of
taking over the world! Or going back to school for a masters... you
know, whichever comes first.
I’m really good at
Asking questions. Avoiding answering questions. Racquetball. Making
words what are pretty and speak thoughts goodly enough.
Spades/Bridge. Congas. Telling outrageous stories.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not sure; usually, they take one look and run away, clawing at
their eyes, screaming, "It's alive!"
I'm kidding. (That's only happened a few times.) But I still don't
know. Why don't you tell me?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Blindness (Jose Saramago), What is the What (Dave Eggers),
Dear American Airlines (Jonathan Miles), On the Road (Jack
Kerouak), The Road (Cormac McCarthy)
Movies: Pan's Labyrinth, Office Space, Shawshank Redemption, Oh
Brother Where Art Thou, The Matrix
Music: The Decemberists, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits, Brandi
Carlile
Food: Fajitas, Lasagna, Red Wine, Shiner Boch, Cold Pizza
The six things I could never do without
1: My iPhone. (I'm not proud of myself here...)
2: A journal.
3: Water.
4: A fast-moving wind.
5: A book.
6: The internet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Metaphors. The future. The past. The meaning of life. What am I
cooking for dinner? How badly do I need to do laundry? How will pop
culture go on without Michael Jackson?
On a typical Friday night I am
At a movie, cooking dinner for friends, at a friend's gig, walking
around Town Lake, at my parents' playing Rock Band with my younger
sisters, playing cards... or maybe something else!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am secretly a recovering nerd, though occasionally I relapse.
You should message me if
You are a cool person. Don't think you're cool enough? Message me!
It will instantly make you a cool person. (Yes, I have that power.)
I believe that everyone on Earth is worth a conversation, and
everyone has a cool story worth telling. Who knows where a
conversation might lead, but even if it goes nowhere, that
conversation will never have been a waste.
