My self-summary Propose an edit

I'd describe myself as introspective, edgy, perceptive, self-reliant, with a dry, subtle sense of humor, a good balance between being unconventional in my thinking tempered with stability and responsibility. I'm plagued by an overactive analytical mind...yes, plagued...and I'd love to meet someone who pushes me to perceive things in a different way or lightens me up when the mental wheels start spinning into overtime.

I enjoy hiking, reading, writing, drinking obscene amounts of coffee, talking about sexuality, engaging in conversation with people able to talk deeply about themselves, lightening heavy moments with dry humor, going to see live music, getting lost in my thoughts and finding my way out again, sunshine, swimming....

I'm observant, am a people watcher, and am constantly fascinated by contemplating what drives people's motivations, their behavior, their choices, and the force that culture and society have in shaping these factors. I'm also driven by having discussions on these topics.

I can often be quiet and initially reserved. It's not an absolute and what it depends on is elusive. Once I'm comfortable, you'll probably wish I'd shut the hell up. I try not to define myself too rigidly...the best kinds of connections occur when someone comes along that makes you refute all your self-perceptions and discover new facets of your personality.

I think compatibility has a lot to do with how two people enhance each other and not necessarily how they mirror each other. So, I don't have a set of prerequisites but mutual respect, intellectual connection and intense sexual chemistry are high up on priority list. Sexually, I'm looking for someone confident, sharp, communicative, kinky, sensual, intuitive, someone wanting to explore...mutual respect ties in to being honest, direct...intellectual connection in terms of using your introspective nature to strive for self-improvement, being inquisitive and reflective, questioning reality.....

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm a special ed. teacher and work with students with severe behavioral issues, most of whom have autism. I love talking about my job...be warned!

I'm a single mom with two young kids. They spend 1/2 time with dad......

In my free time, I like to read, take hikes, get lost in music, write....lately, I'm experiencing a resurgence in my interest in writing and it's great to be feeling that motivation again!

I'm also in a place in my life where I'm seeking more balance to nurture those alter egos. The provider/mother in me is saturated and I need to create space in my life where the woman can be nurtured, whether it's by just going out, being absorbed by a good book, seeing live shows, or sharing intimacy, sex, and connection with someone that I have chemistry with.

A double-edged sword....I guess my strengths have also served as my weaknesses, depending on context...I'm very analytical, objective and perceptive. I'm very in tune with how our reality shapes our experience and perspectives and how much of that reality is subjective....Sometimes this propensity to be able to consider various perspectives keeps me distanced, though...

....making people laugh..if you appreciate a dry, irreverent sense of humor that plays on irony and absurdity. I'm also good at laughing at myself.

People seem to feel comfortable around me. I don't put up pretenses, or expect others to, and people must sense that because I've had a lot of people tell me that they really feel comfortable being themselves around me.
