I'm an ecovisionary with strong leanings towards Jungian symbolism, good food, music, farmers markets, roadtrips, hot springs, and a good sense of humor. I'm brainy, work with my hands, appreciate silence, like to engage in conscious conversations, believe in healthy hedonism and sensuality, and have a bit of a mystical streak. I'm open-minded and don't see the world in black and white...I know there are multiple perspectives and many different expressions of understanding, love, art, literature, music, and life and I like to take in as much as I have time, energy, and interest. Holding the "tension of opposites" in conversations is something I enjoy.
What I’m doing with my life
I am in alchemical transition with my life. I suffered through foreclosure for five years and fought evil Wall Street lenders! Right now every day is a re-connecting with my home, my body, and an emerging vision that I can hold onto what I spent so many years working for. I have an urban home and a country property that I'm founding into an intentional community, so I'm experiencing a lot of gratitude. I'm taking long walks, soaking in my solar heated hot tub, treating myself to bodywork, and am spending more time on the yoga mat. Life is getting better, but I am seriously challenged with responsibilities and am often exhausted with too much responsibilities...and I'm very excited by the fact that I'm peeling layers off every day. That said, if you are looking for someone to run off to festivals all the time I am not your man...at least for now.
I’m really good at
Engaging in conversation, fixing things, humming silly jingles that
seem to make sense in the moment (especially with people who have a
sense of the ridiculous/absurd), holding space for people to
express, hanging out and making yummy food, going on walks,
massage, and kissing.
The first things people usually notice about me
Kind of tall, brainy, big nose, cute, sensual, funny as hell,
compassionate, intense looks on my face, warmth on my face, a
complex person full of ideas. All this in a moment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
What a huge question! I'm still new here so if I don't list my
library anytime soon please don't think I don't have any cultural
interests. Do you want quantity, or quality? I can't believe some
of the lists on this site. Am currently reading "Gathering the
Desert." Cadillac Desert is one of the best environmental reads
ever. I like Lou Reed, Rhasan Roland Kirk, Frank Zappa, David
Bowie, Sandy Denny, Nina Simone, early Led Zeeplin acoustic stuff,
all of the Woodstock album, Zero 7, Eric Satie, goat cheese
tomales, Croatian style roasted lamb with pear brandy, Canadian
Extra Sharp Cheddar, Easy Rider, almost everything by Richard
Brautigan, Home Power Magazine, everything by Margot Anand (take
note!), Light on Tantra, Lane Splitter Pizza, low hanging fruit
when you find abandoned fruit trees, home-brewed beer, and of
course sushi, garlic chicken, the History of the Ottoman Empire,
Strawbale Homes. Chet Baker love songs.
The six things I could never do without
My solar-heated hot tub
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Friendly ways to subvert the dominant paradigm! Existential,
psychological, ecological, spiritual, and silly satirical things. I
would like to see the world move in a sustainable direction that's
more connected to nature and less mired in classism, racism, war,
poverty, hunger, etc. While specific ways of making improvements
are important, I think we need a full-body cultural paradigm shift.
On a typical Friday night I am
These days I'm often at home wrapping up a full week, making yummy
food or walking to a local restaurant, meeting up with friends, but
You should message me if
If you feel a connection and like to engage in deep conversations, have a good sense of humor, and/or just want to say hi because you think I'm interesting, cool, or cute. I am very open to new friendships and want to take steps towards that and if something deeper, intimate, and lasting emerges then it will come from that starting point.
I am embracing a rite of passage and would welcome a spiritual partner in crime. I need a lot of space, welcome intimacy, connection, deep conversations, and respect for my recovery back into my body. I don't have energy to spend time with you if you are loud, I welcome you if you are gentle. I like to laugh and want to regain that spirit.
