I am smart, sassy, and short.

My Self-Summary

I'm a pretty serious person most of the time, but can still behave like a 12 year-old some of the time. I am a dreamer who daydreams a lot. I'm a hopeless romantic, but am also quite the skeptic. I definitely see the glass half-empty, but still believe in wishes and luck. So I am a big contradiction.

I definitely don't run with the pack. I've always been my own person. I'd rather be relevant than "cool." I consider myself uninfluenceable. Is that even a word? Well, I was one of those annoying kids who never succumbed to peer pressure, sort of disgusting, really.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a challenging career that is both fulfilling and extremely frustrating. I'm lucky that I actually like going to work everyday, but my ambition seems to outpace my climb up the corporate ladder.

Driving my new car too fast.

I love to cook and bake, sometimes to Martha Stewart perfection, sometimes fast and easy.

I’m really good at

Being sarcastic and/or a smartass :)

Making fun of people, and getting made fun of...

Telling the truth, even if it hurts

Being wise beyond my years

Remembering names of movies, songs, singers, actors, etc.

Saving money.

The first things people usually notice about me

maybe that I don't have the usual stick-straight Asian hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I have a weakness for romances and memoirs that make me cry. I used to think I was an intellectual and bought all these really thick, geeky books that I never actually read. However, I do have a book addiction. I collect and collect without ever actually bothering to read many of them. Even though I was an English major, I primarily read what literary folks would scoff at: "popular fiction." But I love it, so I don't care.

Movies: Amelie, Gattaca, In the Mood for Love, The Thomas Crown Affair, Children of Men, The Island, The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Working Girl, Golden-era Hollywood films, MGM Technicolor musicals, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers

Music: Keane, Garbage, Jason Mraz, Maroon 5, Imogen Heap, All-American Rejects, Jet, Ting Tings, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, The Killers, Sugar Ray, Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, Usher, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Howie Day, OK Go, Damien Rice, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Chris Cornell, No Doubt, The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand, Sondre Lerche, Kings of Convenience, Mariah Carey, Rooney, Carolina Liar, Alicia Keys, Louis Armstrong, Big Band, Britpop, pop, rock, alternative, R&B. Favorite radio station is Star 98.7. I enjoy concerts and finding new bands.

Food: Mexican, dim sum, tapas, gelato, pizza, seafood (but not sushi), noodles of all kinds

The six things I could never do without

family, TV, music, books, a soft bed, and orange juice.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Food and all the recipes I want to try out.

Finding the right guy, how to find him, where to find him.

Random things that I always look up on wikipedia.

The movies I just saw or the book I just read. I can brood for days over a dissatisfying ending.

On a typical Friday night I am

chilling out at home, visiting family, or out and about to keep myself from going stir-crazy.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I really don't dig facial hair.
