My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just so ya know...I'm a full-time science student, which basically means I have zero time for social media until the semester is over. If you message me and I don't reply right away don't be discouraged, I'm just way bogged down by other things. If you actually are interested...send another. I'll get back to you :)
Some stuff I like:
Exploring cities and wilderness
Reading and sewing
Climbing trees using intricate rigging systems
Dancing (types that involve smashing into other people and also types that don't)
Going to shows
Math, physics, space, most things science.
History
Playing in the dirt, woods and water
Doing interesting physical things which push my body to the limit, then just a tiny bit more
Sitting around tables with friends playing games
Traveling!
Collecting bones and feathers and dead things
Permanent bodily adornments
Watching movies all cuddled up in blankies
Drinking with friends (although that's been toned down a lot in recent years)
Other shit. Weird shit.

I've done a ton of forest defense, cooked Food Not Bombs, and...related stuff. Secretly, I hate politics. I think it's boring to think, talk, and read about. Nonetheless, I will always give a million craps about basic environmental stewardship and human rights.

Depending on how I feel at any moment you might find me with all or none of the hair society has deemed unacceptable for women to grow. I mostly don't like following societal norms that don't make sense, or were created for the purpose of making people feel insecure in order to sell them things. Don't worry though, I was raised with good manners and enjoy using them in the right situations.

Dark sarcasm is my preferred flavor of humor.

I'm an introvert and an affection slut, with misanthropic tendencies.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a student, most of my life revolves around physical science and math at this point. I'm studying geophysics because I love the outdoors too much to sit inside for most of my career. I want to hike around and conduct geophysical surveys!
Other than that, I'm just trying to do a good job being human...
Being extremely transient trough out my early 20's has taught me how important community and keeping up with friends really is.
Learning to be compassionate while still holding space for myself has been a journey. I have it down pretty damn well at this point.
I'm continuing my attempts to make great-tasting sauerkraut and kombucha, and remembering to floss.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-Untangling things and compiling them back together...knots, algebra nightmares, my own identity...
-Starting fires and pooping in the woods.
-Identifying poison oak
-Listening to my intuition
-Hand sewing (never learned how to use a machine)
-Being an awesome travel partner
-Getting dirty
-Cleaning up
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmm.. people say i have pretty eyes (blue) and interesting hair (a dreadhawk with raccoon stripes). I also get identified by my car sometimes, which houses a good number of bones and rocks and feathers.
***update to that: after 8 years of dreads I brushed 'em out. It feels great. After 8 years with that car my ex smashed it. Not so great. The bones and rocks and feathers survived.

People also tell me that I'm intimidating because I'm confident and I've made the impression that I didn't like them at first. I think the second one is because I'm not one for small talk mostly, and I have no idea what to say to people I don't know a lot of the time.
I guess I should smile at people more or something. Working on that. :D There. Done.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books...I look longingly at my bookshelf sometimes, but I don't get to read a lot of fiction/novels because of all the reading I do for school. Some stuff that's sitting around, all sad and neglected:
Tons of PM Press releases from when I subscribed
A couple of math history books (really, there's a lot of crazy stories)
The Primal Screamer
A Song of Ice and Fire
The Ender's Game saga
Michael Pollan
Brian Greene
George Orwell
Janet Hardy
Orson Scott Card
My Harry Potter books that want to be re-read
and way too much more to list.

Music...where do i start?
Rasputina. The Knife (and all of their other projects). Gillian Welch. Nine Inch Nails. Pat the Bunny's projects. Dead to a Dying World. Kimya Dawson. Ecocide. Bauhaus. The Moldy Peaches. MDC. Nirvana. Mississippi John Hurt. Mischief Brew. Washboards-banjos-fiddles-folk-bluegrass-punk-industrial-music to scream with-music to sing with-music that invokes emotion and pulls at my core. Blackbird Raum. Old Crow Medicine Show. Operation Ivy. Black Flag. Dave Rawlings Machine. Devo. Talking Heads. Fever Ray. Pigface. Slow Teeth. Rudi Peni. The Misfits. Skarp. Iggy Pop. Tool. June Carter. Johnny Cash. John Prine. Tin Tree Factory. Joy Division.
.....and bunches more. This is only a sample of what I've listened to recently.

Movies...
Honestly, I can never remember the names of movies. There are a few I know like though...The Matrix, Natural Born Killers, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Requiem for a Dream, and Gattaca come to mind. I like comedy (a lot of dark comedy), sci fi, drama, documentaries, and TED Talks.

T.V.
I am sometimes known to take a few days vacation from the rest of the world, climb into my den of extreme introversion, smoke tons of pot, and serial-watch varoius shows on Netflix.

Food...
Burritos are my comfort food. I love things that are way too spicy (like, burn my taste buds off spicy) and/or have way too much garlic. I also like growing my own food (although I seem to have the opposite of a green thumb), rescuing food from dumpsters, and dousing everything in Tapatio.
Other than that, I love Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Ethiopian, and a nice hunk of dead animal here and there.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee

Being outside...really outside...like ohmygawd-my-phone-doesn't-have-reception-here-and-ummmmm-where's-the-toilet? outside.

Traveling to new and familiar places

Enjoying the company of other sarcastic assholes

Exploring the outskirts of social normality

Some sort of creative/expressive outlet

Music

Human touch (babies die from lack of that ya know)

A copious writing style apparently
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My plans for the summer, trips with friends, backpacking, hiking, swimming, sunshine, and getting outside in general.

Sciencey stuff.

Moving to southern California (it's happening in a year...for school).

This is pretty freaking cool to consider

So is this
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Pretending (?) I'm a unicorn.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There are times when I totally get down to the top 40. In the car, volume up, singing along...the whole enchilada.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You want to get a beer (or, you know, whatever) and make a new friend.
-You want to compare notes on ways to fuck/fix shit up.
-You have some awesome skill or hobby you want to share, or are interested in learning something from me
-You spell out entire words
-You're not looking for anything serious right now, or you're open to the potential of long-distance non-monogomy. I'm moving in a year for school.

Other qualities I'm attracted to:
People with animal friends (not in cages) (+100 cuteness points).
People who are awesome but don't necessarily know it. Seeing eyes light up during a forest/outdoor adventure. Intelligence. Empathy. Real ass motherfuckers. A crazy streak. Open communication. People who get shit done. People who can hang with a little woo but aren't way off in the deep end themselves. Coffee addicts.
