I am adventurous, passionate, and intellectual.

My Self-Summary

I hate interviews, so I hate writing profiles to describe myself. I am an introverted extrovert who does not like talking about myself except when I do.

What I’m doing with my life

Thinking alot about Sufism and spirituality in general, lately. And what color to paint the walls in the new apartment. At the moment, I am rereading what traits describe a psychopath, while trying to envision them interspersed within my novel and the lyrics to the Tenessee Waltz. Oh, and helping strangers with cat advice.

I’m really good at

making other people embarrass themselves without making myself look like an idiot. This means dancing ( I can dance pretty well, no issues there), singing something awful at karoke, trying odd or even repulsive food, or admiting something they would otherwise rather keep quiet.

The first things people usually notice about me

Depends more on the person and less on me, I find.

Someone recently observed that I make a lot of sense and then, suddenly, I am off on a totally obscure tangent like Brittany Spear's total lack of tits or the obscenely long hours it takes to write trash.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I just finished Cathryn Valente's Orphans Tales and loved them. I also loved Jane Yolen and Nancy Springer at some point. Classics include William Gibson, Janet Morris, Bruce Chatwin, and CJ Cherryh, just to name a few.

I also write, quite a bit.

Screw Hollywood. I love directors like Tarkovsky, Greenaway, Von Trier, Jenuit, and Besson. Don't ask me whose in a movie, though.

Food. Hm. There is very little a foodie does not like, though I generally despise Mexican - I'll have margaritas, though, just fine!

Music varies. Right now I am listening to Bat for Lashes, Sting, Placebo, Chandeen, and The Knife.

The six things I could never do without

My cats, my writing, my laptop, my legs, my brain, and actually probably a whole lot more biology...maybe my eyes?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Writing fiction. It's consuming, actually. Pretending to work on my thesis comes in second.

On a typical Friday night I am

Swing dancing with my boy.
