My self-summary
Welcome Gentle Reader ...

(Ok - so maybe some of you actually aren't so gentle - but I have a literary bent, so cut a brother some slack (well, not really a "brother", but you know...just sayin')

And....for folks reading this younger than me - what you see is what you get , eg in person, people think I'm late 30's both visually and personality-wise. If that works for you, good - if not, no problem ...

Update: I just had a chat with a friend I've made on cupid, who said something that was right on. She said: "I say what I mean and I mean what I say . . . people who don't . . . confuse me greatly." Right
I am looking only - only - for people with there is a very high match between what they say about themselves and how they present themselves, and who they are and what they actually want. Think about that - is that really you? I am wanting to connect - and it can end up being just friendship - with folks who have high integrity - even on a dating site like cupid. All others, best of luck with whomever else you end up meeting ...

Alrighty then. Onward we go...

--------------------------------------------------

MAJOR INTERESTS: piano, drumming, parter dancing, friendships, reading non-fiction, walking, stimulating intelligent conversation (!),road trips, the urban scene, art, philosophy, trance dancing, psychology, cosmology, communities, creating events, massage, energy work, healing, liberal activism, poetry writing, swimming, yoga,

NEW INTERESTS: singing, standup comedy (performing), writing non-fiction, entrepeneurship - a raw foods product, and an idea for a new type of coffee shop.

Oh - You want more....?
-------------------------------------------

I'm a Myers Briggs ENFP (extraverted, intuiting, feeling, perceptive), and the descriptions of that personality type that you find online are definitely me:

"ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it."

Ok - So You'd like something more personal...
Onward, Gentle Reader...
-------------------------------------------

I love the feeling of being alive, as it feels on a brisk fall's day, skinny dipping, dancing all night, drummin, eating spicy ethnic food.

I like to play, and have a passion for being out in a natural setting and walking.Integrity is a frikkin' big deal to me. People often say it is for them - in practice, it seems that it's only true for so many. You?

My mind is open and there's no lack of life energy. I'm admittedly a seminar junkie - Communication seminars, The Forum, breathwork, movement, tantra - you name it. I make a point of saying this because, yes, I am on a personal growth path, and would probably best match up with someone who is too (in whatever ways).

I like to know a little about a lot of things - that makes me a good trivia teammate.

Long term friendships are important and I have a good number of them. My network is pretty large.

Along with teaching music, I make a living accompanying at private schools and performing regular gigs and concerts . I have released two solo Cd's. I just recorded my third , called WinterSong. It's similar in feel to George Winston recordings like Autumn and December. I'm doing a Cd Release Concert Feb 7th in Candler Park.

I love traveling, and have been to Europe several times. I'm drawn to expressive events like comedy improv and dancing - both watching and, much more to the point, doing. I was just in DC and saw the fantastic Washington Improv group doing an improvised musical. I interacted improvisationaly with one of the members afterwards and she said: I think we've got a new member. You can present me with someone I've just met, and I can make up a song about them. For real !

I have a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Library Science. Maybe I'll go back to graqd school someday - Academia is really attractive to me.

I am an intown Atlanta guy. I could also see myself living in Asheville NC, Portland, or Charlottesville Virginia, among other eclectic communities. I recently went with some friends to Nashville - also a winner. I have maybe a dozen cities in the US total I want to investigate...Walking and dancing, along with traveling are big passions. I've recently traveled to: DC, Brooklyn, Charlottesville, Saratoga Springs, Asheville, and Nashville.

Playful, curious, energetic, idealistic, friendly, empathic, sensitive, tough when needed...
What I’m doing with my life
Expanding my music business, putting out new recordings, doing intown stuff with friends, meeting new people, hanging out with friends,, walking, exploring new interests (like coaching and tango), traveling and doing work for social change. Watching The Daily Show, Colbert and the Onion News Network whenever I can. One of my journal pieces is a fake Onion news story about a guy updating his OKCupid profile.
I’m really good at
Scrabble. Sorry - if we ever play, and I'm creaming you, no mercy.
I'll just keep tiling it on. I will concede defeat graciously, should that ever happen.

Miniature golf (the more plastic windmills or pirates, the better)
.....I can really kick putt! Regular golf -as far as I'm concerned - is for people who can't smack it through the dinosaur's mouth and right into the hole. Let's see you do that, Tiger Woods!

Energy practices a la reiki.

Dancing - partner or otherwise (even went to a coed belly dance class)

Creating Music on the spot
Improvising haiku and sometimes limericks
Communication
Healing
Creating something that didn't exist before.
Writing humorous skits and satire

Other stuff one doesn't mention on a fine family site like OKCupid...

Or - I have a date
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoy the Waffle House jukebox
I'm especially amused with their own self-promotional songs with names something like "Raisin Toast and Hash Browns" (yum)

I don't fantasize about women I see or meet who are considered sexy, unless they have some brains or heart. For real
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 27–55
  • Near me
  • Who are single

If the below stuff is not you and where you're at, thanks for reading this far, and best of luck

If it is - well, ya know, that might be good....

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

You know who you are inside.
You're pretty clear what you want.
When it's No, you have no problem saying No.
When it's Yes, you say Yes.
You're comfortable in your own skin, and with asking for what you want.
You don't need to play communication games - you let people know what's up(you don't leave them hanging).

That sounds so basic, doesn't it! I'm comfortably all of that.

Also Good:

-you are open to life and new experiences
-you're drawn to reading and intellectual conversation
-you're politically liberal
-you're something like spiritual though not dogmatic (I'm fine with it if you affiliate with a given church or synagogue, etc.)
-you like to travel when possible
-you're potentially available for something more long term with the right person - that is, you have some time in your life, and you're over your last relationship enough to be truly available for someone(not everyone is)........

(A Note on the whole age thing - I have a wide range of people I connect with both as friends and potential dates. In the last week, for example , I've had really good chats with people ranging in age from mid twenties to late fifties.)

For the right kind of woman, I know I'm a great catch.

Ciao and Enjoy Your Day
