My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a friendly, bright, regular guy, and I've been curious about almost everything all my life. I like to laugh and kid around, but I know how to be serious, too, when there are things to discuss and decide.

I've heard I have a romantic side. Could be. If I like a girl, I want to smile when I see her, to look in her eyes, hear her voice, give her all my attention. And if we start kissing, I don't want it to stop--lips, cheeks, eyelids, hair, neck, shoulders . . .

A little history. After working a long time in store management for Trader Joe's, I was lucky enough to be able to return to school in the mid-'90's. In time, I graduated law school in St. Louis and came back to L.A. After a while (and God only knows how) I passed the Bar Exam.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm trying to establish my own practice as a lawyer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Let's see . . . this isn't in order of importance, but just as things come to mind. Driving; cooking; working on mechanical things; camping; public speaking; gardening; chatting with bright women; art history; crossword puzzles; kissing (so I've heard).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have people tell me they noticed my eyes, my smile, and a couple times, my shoulders. I also hear that when I start talking, they like that I'm friendly and usually have something interesting to say.

If they get to know me, they'll also notice that I get along with most types of people and am comfortable in almost any setting.

Some people even think I'm witty (seems to happen more when I've been buying the drinks.) When the mood strikes, I sometimes will say things that get everyone laughing--can't help it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a big fan of film noir and Hitchcock, but I like most other movies, too. I'll even sit through a four-hankie chick flick with you, on occasion. I also like art museums, lectures, concerts, and fairs, and I could even be talked into some plays, ballet, etc.

I read mysteries, biographies, histories, political philosophy, books about the physical world, novels, poetry on occasion, and magazines. Or we can sit on the sofa holding hands and watch a TV show, and I'll be very happy.

I like most kinds of music, except for rap/hip-hop. Jazz, old rock, blues, zydeco, flamenco, reggae, folk or classical or some country occasionally--all good.

Food and I are on very good terms--which is why I'm on the weight machines and treadmill 3-4 times a week and stay in shape. I can go high or low or in between, from really fine restaurants to a hot dog off a cart, to HITW ethnic places. Sprouts and seeds and vegan delights aren't real high on my list.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I like seven better: good company, kissing, bright conversation, wine, exercising, beauty, and kindness. And here's an eighth: Women who haven't forgotten how to act like kids and have fun.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Bombolone. My favorite Roy Orbison song. Heirloom tomatoes. Which weight machine I dislike most. The smell of a campfire. Architecture I'd like to see. And almost anything and everything else imaginable.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
nothing typical; could be out on the town, by myself, or with a friend (maybe you?) or at home reading or watching a movie
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not the world's greatest dancer. But I'm a quick study.

One other thing, not private. After we've e-mailed back and forth a few times and talked on the phone, let's go ahead and meet. What do you say?

you're a bright, interesting girl who likes to see and do all sorts of things--but sometimes wishes she could see and do them with a thoughtful guy she'd feel good to be around.
