I am sarcastic, smart, and opinionated.

My Self-Summary

I do not negotiate with terrorists.

I like to look classy; I often wear a soccer jersey with a sport coat. Most of my best clothes have come from Goodwill.

Late night is my favorite time. Too often I end up being awake all night and asleep during the day. Unless I'm doing something important during the day, in which case I might not sleep at all.

I love rain. Especially thunderstorms.

I know things. I study philosophy, so I like to think of myself as a Renaissance Man. I know a bit about everything, and if I don't, I'm good at making stuff up.

My car died. It was a 1983 Volvo. Now I have a 1998 Saturn. It has a lot less character.

Michigan is my favorite state. I grew up there, and I hope I'll be able to make it back to the Great Lake State sometime after I graduate.

If you ever ask me to think of a number, I'll always choose 7.

Recently, my philosophical views have been described as "infuriatingly consistent." I think that's a good thing.

I'm not very good at typing.

Sometimes people tell me I talk with an accent. It's been described as sounding Irish, Welsh, Dutch, Australian, Croatian, German, and Czech. I wonder if any of these people have ever even heard a foreign accent. I've lived in America my entire life. I guess I just picked up some weird speech patterns from watching too much soccer on TV as a kid.

My favourite word is "wicked."

I play soccer. If anything is at all related to soccer, I'm probably in love with it. I love watching soccer on TV, playing soccer video games, and talking about soccer.

What I’m doing with my life

Technically, I don't "work" right now since I'm a student. I had a few odd jobs growing up and have done things in the summer to make money, but they were mainly just for that: to make money. Hopefully when I finish school, I'll get a dream job that I totally love. Obviously I want to get paid to do the kind of thing that's so amazing and inspiring and fun that I'd do it for free. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like anyone wants to pay me to kick a soccer ball, so I might have to settle for making money.

I’m really good at

I'm not "really" good at soccer, but I think I'm better than most at it. I'm really good at talking about soccer, if that counts as a skill. I'm really good at being sarcastic and cynical. I'm really good at filling out survey boxes on websites. I'm really good at using the spell-check function on my computer. I'm really good at sleeping through class. I'm really good at winning pointless arguments. I kick ass on standardized tests.

On the other hand, one thing I'm really bad at is sleeping. I find my self awake at all sorts of odd hours due to my inability to sleep well. I think I'm more likely to be awake at 1:30 am than 1:30 pm.

I just realized that I claimed to be really good and really bad at sleeping. Maybe it averages out, and I'm just bad as sleeping at the right times.

The six things I could never do without

Soccer
Conversation
the number 3
Creativity
Music
Free Time

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Mostly soccer. Also philosophy, sailing, girls, politics, the past, the future, life, movies, TV shows, food, friends, family, mathematics, quantum physics, poetry, and sleep. But mostly soccer.

On a typical Friday night I am

Most of the time I just chill at home, drink a few beers, and play video games or watch TV with my roommates, especially if I have a game Saturday morning. If not, sometimes I go out to parties or go to a movie or something.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have an irrational fear of accidentally being served the New Coke instead of Coca-Cola Classic. This is not a phobia or mental condition recognized by any medical association, or anyone else, ever.

You should message me if

You're a real person. If nothing else, talking to someone new helps kill the boredom, and you never know when you're going to meet someone special. Anyone who reads this far should message me.

Also, if I'm online and it's the middle of the night, I'm probably bored and looking for someone to talk to, so don't be shy.
