My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
For the sake of plain explanations and keyword searches, I am polyamorous, and I'm into things like honesty and communication in relationships. I'm in an open relationship with my awesome boyfriend I met right here on this site 9 years ago. We date other people as individuals, not as a couple.

I'm pretty quiet in group settings. I guess I like to listen and absorb. I like hanging out in small groups best, as opposed to large loud parties. Conversational intimacy.

I was a pretty serious 20-something. Having a lot more fun with life in my 30s.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to separate who I am from who I thought I was.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being creative, within a given context or constraint. One of my HS teachers called me a divergent thinker. I was glad to find out I wasn't just weird.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair, if I have it down. (At least I hope that's the answer. Long hair is a pain in the ass to take care of!)
I suppose people also notice my height. I'm kind of tall.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I gotta say... Kindle + long subway commute = reading a lot! Currently reading Dataclysm, the book that's largely about OkCupid user data. It's good but it makes me very angry.
I love anything by Alison Bechdel, Jeanette Winterson, or Ann-Marie MacDonald. Just read Sarah Waters' new book and need to read more of her work. I was also recently slain by The Goldfinch, The Fault in Our Stars, and All the Light We Cannot See.

Movies: Just some favorites... Good Will Hunting. Moonrise Kingdom! Beginners is awesome. A Home at the End of the World. The Blues Brothers!

Music: I have over 36 GB of music. Listing artists would be silly.

Board & Card Games: Puerto Rico, Dixit, Dominion, 7 Wonders, Fluxx, Aquarius, Pueblo, Carcassonne, Settlers. Cards Against Humanity is good too, but it's starting to get worn out for me.

Food: Oh yeah gotta eat something and make the hunger stop. Whatever's around is fine.

Favorite lyric selections that seems apropos to a dating site:
"In all the places we were hiding love. What was it we were thinking of?" - Peter Gabriel
"All I really want our love to do is to bring out the best in me and in you too." - Joni Mitchell
"All we have to seeeeee is that I don't belong to you, and you don't belong to me YEAH YEAAAAAAH!" - George Michael
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'd have to say making things. I like to be doing something, creating something, or making a difference somehow. Collaborating with other people and evolving into smarter people together is just what life is all about, to me.

I need five more?
Real friends. I don't need a lot of 'em, just a few good ones.
Sleep. I loves me some sleep. Particularly in the AM hours. You know, 3am to 10am? :)
Hot tea.
Music. I listen to music pretty much constantly.
Love. Duh.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...overcoming and outgrowing jealousy and figuring out how to love without fear.

...how to be less introverted while still being me.

...which thing I really want to do that should be prioritized next, and not letting any other projects distract me 'til that's finished. (I'm sort of bad at this.)

Also, I think a lot about professions I would have, if I could. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. But I also want to be a documentary producer, and a HS English teacher, and a summer camp director, and...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If it's been an exhausting week, I'm sitting on the couch, watching a documentary.

If I still have energy left in the tank, I'll go climbing at The Cliffs, because that place is beautifully empty on Friday nights, yo.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not really into casual sex. I need to feel some sort of connection/affection first to really be into it. But don't be scared. Love is good. Really, I just want us to get to know each other a bit first.
