My self-summary
I'm a poet, I'm in love with words. I like to write, I love to read, and to list the authors and philosophers I have respect for and wish I could be as good as would take months. So...I won't.

I'm polyamorous, I don't believe monogamy is a natural state of being for me. I have respect for those who feel pulled to it, but none for those who subscribe to it simply because it is the norm.

Also, I'm not on the market for anything sexual with anyone right now. This is probably temporary, but even though I'm poly, I'm also just starting to explore my own submissive side with a specific Dom. I'd love to talk to other people in the BDSM world, especially other subs, just for info and to have an outlet to deal with these changes. But I'm not weak, I'm just submissive. I'm really a switch (and if you don't know what that means, you're not in the world, so don't worry about it), but I've only just discovered my sub side, and I'm all entrenched in it right now. I am not on the market for a dom/master. I have one. I'm keeping him. And I only have room for one right now. But I'd love to talk about the world and such.

I am Fire-filled, truth-obsessed, and poetic

What I’m doing with my life
I'm in school full time, am insanely busy. I'm majoring in English, I'm looking into grad school, I want to teach poetry. Which is a change from what I originally planned on, but probably the best path for me. I'm a single mom. I'm trying to work out how to fix all the world's problems. Wish me luck. :)

I’m really good at
Lots and lots of stuff. Reading, writing, analyzing literature and philosophy. Cooking. Being a mom.

Oh, and sex. I'm good at that too.

The first things people usually notice about me
My fire. That essence in me that is both frightening to those who don't have it, and intoxicating to those that share it.

Or, if you're a little less involved, my hair or my skin. I have really pale skin, with a lot of freckles, and my hair was really long and wavy and extremely dark. I'm Irish by heritage and look it, though I've recently dyed my hair dark red and cut it in a twenties style.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Good god. Um...this would take months. Top few of each: Books -- Poetry: The Dead and the Living -Sharon Olds The Odyssey - Homer The Gatehouse Heaven - James Kimbrell Books -- Fiction: Gulliver's Travels - Swift The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul - Douglas Adams Great Expectations - Charles Dickens Books -- Drama: 'Night Mother Glass Menagerie Henry V

Movies: Harold and Maude Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Willow Pan's Labyrinth Serenity

Television: Okay, since I have some shows I think are genius, and then some shows I just love, I'll give two categories, three in each: Genius: Firefly Lost (okay, I know the hype, but it's fascinating, I resisted and got hooked anyway) Boston Legal Shows I love: Hell's Kitchen (omg, I know it's reality TV, but it's SO good, and so lacking in the typical bull) Sex and the City (it's only not genius because it's so one-sided. I still love it majorily, though) Buffy (again, bordering on genius, but just misses the mark)

Oh, and I also love the Simpsons and Family Guy, but I figure that applies to just about everyone under the age of thirty, right?

Music: Folk: Ani Difranco Sheryl Crow Jim Croce Melanie Other: Dave Matthews Band Biff Naked John Spillane (Irish singer/songwriter/musician whose songs are mainly in Irish)

Food: Yes. Please. More, thanks. I love to cook, and I love to eat. Some favorites: Meat: Duck Rib-eye Porterhouse (oh, my god, a good porterhouse cooked right....) Wings (the hotter the better) Salmon (especially lox)

Veggies: Broccoli Green beans tomatoes (although really a fruit) Avacado (see above) Brussels sprouts

Fruit: Pears Apples Raisins Plums Strawberries Blueberries

Starch: Potatoes (the most amazing food ever, I think) Stuffed shells Angel hair Fried rice

Dairy: Provolone Colby Pepper Jack (yeah, I like the spicy)

I also love Indian food, sushi (but only if I'm near the ocean, sorry, I don't trust landlocked sushi), Mexican food (with a bite, so more tex-mex than true Mexican), Italian (but only if it's pretty damn good, because I used to work as a cook in an Italian Bistro and can do most of it myself), Chinese (especially when I have a cold, mmmmm pot-stickers), French (gotta love the rich sauces), okay, well, just about everything except liver lamb goat-cheese sweet potatoes/winter squash (can't deal with the texture) peas (mostly, although I've been known to enjoy them in specific dishes)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Silly question. Especially for someone who writes poetry (see my journal entry -- dabbling) and loves philosophy.

but, let's do a top five just for good measure:

morality -- what is it, how to make it more concrete, how to construct it, how to follow it successfully

freedom -- how much do I require, how do I get it, how do we make a society built, truly, around the idea that we need freedom to flourish and we need to protect that freedom above all. "Give me liberty, or give me death" without freedom we are nothing.

Love/relationships: how to make them work, how to keep my morals intact, stay honest, enjoy others, and be true to myself while loving and committing to others (oh, btw, I'm a polyamorous person. If you're curious, ask)

Poetry: How to make it better, how to make it concrete, how to show others what I think, see, love, taste, hear, enjoy, what depresses me, what makes me giddy, make others care about what I care about through art, through words.

Family: what is it? How should I define it? How do I make my family better?

On a typical Friday night I am
Watching tv. Or hanging out with my daughter. Or reading. Or writing a paper, or going to karaoke, or talking on the phone with one of my lovers, or playing on the internet, or having a game night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll admit anything. I have no secrets that I can't share about who I am and what I am. As long as it's mine to tell (that is, not a confidence given by another) I'll tell it.

So, big deal thing, I guess, I'm a single mom who is basically not single. I'm polyamorous. I have a serious, committed, relationship with two other people, we're a 'triad' currently, but eventually hope to include others. Some specific, some we haven't discovered yet. This involves honesty, at it's core, the most important thing to me in the universe.

If you've actually read this far, kudos. And I'll tell you something else, that I just realized is probably minorly important: I'm a snob. Not about everything, but I know what I like, especially in things that aren't necessary like alcohol. I only have a few beers I like, I only like nice wine (not necessarily expensive, but well made, and this, sadly, includes no local wines from Illinois that I've had), I only like really good coffee, but since I'm an addict I'll drink Starbucks or McDonalds if there's no other option. I like the finer things, and again, that doesn't necessarily mean expensive, just finely made.

Oh, I'm also painfully in debt.

I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 27-40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, long-distance penpals, casual sex
You should message me if
You want to. But beware, I'm not really interested in cyber-sex. It's dull, and most people who want to do it aren't particularly good writers.

Don't message me if you're only interested in sex. Or if you're not really interested in talking about stuff. Or if you're really uber-religious and fanatical and think your way is the only right way. I just won't respond, and I'll get annoyed. So don't. I answer the door when the crazy Christians come knocking, and then I tell them I worship the devil. I don't, of course, but I find that that's the best way to get them to leave me be. I respect your beliefs, I just don't necessarily want to hear about them. Ad nauseum....

Also, please attempt to spell simple words correctly. I know that some words are long and complex and difficult to spell, I have trouble sometimes too. But if you're going to send me a message, please read over it once. Just make sure that you've attempted to make the grammer slightly correct. I'm a poet, I love the English language, and it makes my brain hurt when people butcher it.
