My self-summary
Born in Santa Cruz, brought up in North Hollywood and ended up in N. Cali. after attending Chico State. I'm so glad I live in CA, it really makes it much easier when selecting it in a dropdown menu.
Along the way I've had my bouts of adventure, which continue. A constant in my life has been running, serious and recreational...but being in nature mostly. Other constants have been bicycles (my business) and vintage scooters.
I'm equally social and a loner, cause I mostly work alone, run, cycle, travel on my own. You get the picture, so more in an independent way rather than a messed up deviant way, just to make that clear. So after the loner time I like to drink and have fun with friends, and I'm up for doing almost anything, and mostly avoid the usual consumer world, popular, mainstream crap. I'm a DIY kind of guy. I like catching music at DIY venues.
A few more pesky I's....I'm nonconforming, but fit in healthily. I'm somewhat carefree and welcome mirth. I can be serious and direct when necessary, with what I'm trying to accomplish and with people. I'm a community diplomat, though a little bit anarchist and a little bit country. I am genuine and soulful. I value honest communication immensely, it's thoughtful, however facetiousness and sarcasm is good fun too.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a vintage bicycle business. Think quality Italian steel racing bikes rather than fat tire 50's cruiser paper boy bikes, though I do like those. Anyway parts, repairs, restorations...so if you need anything.
Hustling. Balancing the self-discipline of self-employment. Building my business. Working on my live/work space. Trying to be a competitive runner again.
I’m really good at
Restoring. Recycling....I'm a resourceful, creative bugger. Learning. Logic. Listening. Finding solutions. Finding second hand treasures. Fixing things. Building things. Organizing things. Leaving things better than I found them. Cross-Country running. Cooking mexican dishes. Falling asleep at the drop of a hat. You'd fall asleep fast too if you did everything I just listed in a day.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I'm noticing something about them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Razor's Edge, The English Patient, The Hours, Catch 22, Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The wit and humor of Oscar Wilde, Dorothy Parker, David Sedaris. Mitch Hedberg, Mark Twain, Marx Brothers.

Bicycle Thief, Breaking Away, Black Stallion, Quadrophenia, Blazing Saddles (anything Mel Brooks really), Caddyshack, Goodfellas, Punch Drunk Love, Take the Money and Run, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, American Beauty, Harold & Maude. Documentaries, drama, old, new and foreign, pretty much anything and everything. I love celluloid!

Art Blakey said that "Jazz washes away the dust of every day life". I think all music does that, whatever your taste may be. I like a ton of music, old and new, 60's music, soul. Some favorites are The Smiths, Cocteau Twins, The Kinks, The Sonics, Bowie, Grizzly Bear, Crass, Ween, Bent, M83, The Sundays, Chopin, Jerry Butler, Aretha Franklin, The Jam, GBH, The Specials, Camera Obscura, Hank Locklin, Style Council, The Exploited.

Food is a good idea, and I'm not overly picky. But a fresh, healthy, home cooked meal is the best. Quinoa is super food.
The six things I could never do without
spectacles, floss/toothpick/toothbrush/toothpaste/mouthwash/gum,
bicycle, running shoes, space heater
music....including any method or device to play it....just play it!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Running, The Eightfold Path, Jiddu Krishnamurti's way.
Cleaning up the mess I've made, mostly literal, rarely figurative. Organizing. Materialism, stuff, getting rid of it all (except for one scooter and one bicycle and my tools and a pump and a generator, perhaps a nuclear power plant....I'm hopeless!) and moving to the country. Eating peaches? Avoiding touching the fuzz to the top of my mouth. Farming. Making trails.
Myself, family, society, justice, injustice, nature's beauty, somebody to share my life and life in general (I credit Depeche Mode for this last part).
On a typical Friday night I am
Yes, indeed I am....Descartes would agree with this, I'm certain.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I work better with music playing, sometimes loud! That's why I have a live/work space in a warehouse.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 36–48

You should message me if
upon looking at me you feel melty or you want to find out if we complement each other, or you wanna catch some music, get a drink...you know, something "date"-like, unless that word scares you. In that case we can call it "hang out".
