My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Born in Santa Cruz, brought up in N. Hollywood and ended up here after attending Chico State. I'm so glad I live in CA, it really makes it much easier when selecting it in a dropdown menu.
Along the way I've had my bouts of adventure, which continue. Some constants have been running (competitive and recreational), travel, bicycles, vintage scooters, catching music, art and nature. I run a lot but I don't expect people to be into that, though music, art and nature would be nice. Mostly, but not always of course, I avoid the usual consumer world, popular, mainstream thing. I'm a DIY man, from changing the mini-screws on my glasses to building a live/work space. I take an individualistic stance. I have gumption.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Balancing the self-discipline of self-employment. Building my business. Working on my live/work space. Trying to be a competitive runner again.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. Logic. Learning. Finding solutions. Fixing things. Building. Organizing. Leaving things better than I found them. Cross-Country running. Falling asleep at the drop of a hat.
The first things people usually notice about me

is that I'm noticing something about them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The Razor's Edge, The English Patient, The Hours, Catch 22, Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The wit and humor of Oscar Wilde, Dorothy Parker, David Sedaris. Mitch Hedberg, Mark Twain, Marx Brothers.

Bicycle Thief, Breaking Away, Black Stallion, Quadrophenia, Caddyshack, Goodfellas, Punch Drunk Love, Take the Money and Run, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, American Beauty, Harold & Maude. Documentaries, drama, old, new and foreign, pretty much anything and everything. I love celluloid!

I like a ton of music, old and new, 60's music, soul. Some favorites are The Smiths, Cocteau Twins, The Kinks, Bowie, Grizzly Bear, Ween, Bent, Joy Division, Jerry Butler, Aretha Franklin, The Jam, GBH, The Specials, Style Council.

Food is a good idea, and I'm not overly picky. But a fresh, healthy, home cooked meal is the best. Quinoa is super food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
spectacles, floss/toothpick/toothbrush/toothpaste/mouthwash/gum,
bicycle, running shoes, space heater,
music....including any method or device to play it....just play it!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Running, The Eightfold Path, Jiddu Krishnamurti's way.
Myself, family, society, justice, injustice, nature's beauty, somebody to share my life and life in general (I credit Depeche Mode for this last part).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Yes, indeed I am....Descartes would agree with this, I'm certain.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a bit afraid of the unpredictable moment that a Pillsbury biscuit cylinder erupts as I creepily peel its paper layer around.....but then again there's something exciting about the unpredictability, the anticipation and the burst of happiness it brings me!
This says a lot about me.

upon looking at me you feel melty or you want to find out if we complement each other, or you wanna catch some music, get a know, something "date"-like, unless that word scares you. In that case we can call it "hang out".
